I had been watching this chawan on Michael's etsy for some time and could not believe it was still there. I enlisted the aide of TeaFairies who included it in the TA SO box when Michael was not looking ...

Highly reflective tenmoku glaze create a spectacular backdrop for 1000's of tiny green galaxy of stars on the facetted surface. Here it also picked up the orange from a towel.

Just did have matcha in it, wowza!

This may be my fave ShyRabbit Chawan, tough call since each are quite specially chosen (4 of them). I loved it on etsy, but the glaze is so fascinating with the galaxy of green stars. The appearance of the cuts is really amazing. The piece could be called Galaxy, or somehow I think Folds in Time ...

Thought I would post an image of a Yunomi that came out of last weeks firing of the small kiln. This Shino and Wood Ash Glazed piece was fired to ∆10 (2345F) in reduction. The red is a result of reducing the copper that was added to the wood ash. It measures 3-1/8" h. x 3-1/4" w. and holds approx. 9-1/2 oz/275 ml

Thanks for the comments on the Red Tears Yunomi, I really appreciate it. I never saw "Cherries in the snow," thanks for the victoria.

A few more Yunomi from the same firing. They are glazed with (left to right) Nuka and Tenmoku, Oribe, Shino.

Believe it or not it's starting to feel a bit like fall here at 8,000 feet, not quite ready for that.
