Thanks, everybody! Shogun -- I will probably try the CNNP this week, so will try to remember to write up something then
Salsero -- some of the stuff that Jim sells notes that there are price breaks when you purchase more of them, but none of the ones I bought had this. Even more sadly, I received no samples with this order... and in my previous (smaller) orders, I did. Oh well, that's certainly not a deal breaker.
Meanwhile, hello.... what's this?

Could it be holding tea? Let's open it and find out...

Yes, yes it does hold tea. Pu-erh a plenty... what have we got?

Lots of "onesies" -- I'm a fan of the Xiaguan, so I did pick up about 7 or so bricks of that Tibetan tea.

Let's see... on the bottom shelf I have some of the "older" sheng (i.e. 2002 and earlier), and also remnants from the countless samples I bought from netsurfr. I just sort of came up with this cupcake holding idea (perfect for ~20g of tea)... but... any better ideas for storing all these samples?

Let's see, here's some more random stuff. I didn't pull out that stack in the back left. And you can see the tong of the 8848 there on the right w/ its pretty string.

I put all the cooked stuff on the top shelf. It's still pretty disorganized up there, and I still have a lot of stuff in bags from netsurfr. I should transfer those to the cupcake tins. Hmm, more work to do!
So... wow. Now that I've seen it all in one spot, I have to admit I'm set for awhile. Actually, the really embarrassing thing is that I also made a huge order from YSLLC to include 3 more tongs plus a bunch of other stuff
That stuff is on the literal slow boat from China, though, so I won't be getting it in until April.
So yes, I've basically blown my tea budget for the year already. I'm going to have to be very frugal... The thing I love about pu-erh though is that you can "forget about it," which means I can focus on the greens, oolongs and blacks that I have and intersperse it with pu-erh....

Thanks again! If you're ever in the VB area, you're welcome to enjoy some tea. But I will be frisking you on the way out
Seriously, though, I enjoy tea, but I enjoy tea and conversation as well, and it's a pleasure to share both.
And thanks for the heads-up .... I'll email Jim first next time to see if there's any deals to be had (: That's how I ordered from Scott, which helps to avoid eBay tack-on costs, among others.
Speaking of which, from Scott, I got a tong +1 of the Haiwan 8808, as well as a tong + 1 for two Menghai blends (7532 and 7582). I picked up 5 bricks of the 2004 Xiaguan Tibetan tea (I heard about the fluoridosis stuff ... i'll be sure to drink 'reasonably'
), plus some other Xiaguan, Yuan Nian, and others. I'll lay it out all when it arrives.

Wow, seems to be a great order. You picked up some nice stuff. Just had some of my Tibetan flame tonight and was quite impressed. I think I'm going to pick up another 2 or 3 bricks. In 10-20 years we'll have to meet up to compare some of our teas to see how they aged.
Spring is a commin, time for the tea to wake up. YAY!
