1993 Wuyi Hui-Yuan Cliff Lao Cong Shui Xian from Origin Tea. Cocoa, apricots, almonds. Savoring this one.
Re: Official what Oolong are You Drinking Right Now?
2014 Huang Guan Yin yan cha from Jing Tea Shop. Mineral, leather, caramel with a touch of sweetness and bitterness. Pretty good, but I think it needs a little more time to rest.

2015 Li Shan from Taiwan Sourcing. It's pretty good! I still miss the Li Shan from Origin though.

Had a wonderful wonderful 2014 ChenYuen Tei Loh Han. This one really blown me away. Absolutely fantastic. Everything I look for is in this tea. I haven't buy tea for a very long time. Partly due to my ample supply for a long time and also the quality is very elusive. But this one really bug me. I finally bought a kilo of this tea, at USD1500 per kg, a real steal for tea of this quality. Happy man today. My humble yancha teapot would be happy as well.
Cheers!

I don't suppose that's available anywhere around these partsTeaism wrote:Had a wonderful wonderful 2014 ChenYuen Tei Loh Han. This one really blown me away. Absolutely fantastic. Yes, limited few kg and almost gone. Just chance upon it from a local source. I tried another source, a USD2000 per kg Shui Xian, but not up to standard for that price.bonescwa wrote: I don't suppose that's available anywhere around these parts
According to a few sources, very high quality tea is available occasionally nowadays because the gift culture in China is taking a setback. They are cautious about expensive gifts. Perhaps that is the reason, we can see some top quality stuff available if we look around. But they are hardly available online, mostly source by those who seek for the highest quality at any price. To me price to quality ratio is very important. If the quality is really good, I don't mind to buy some for enjoyment.
Have a great tea day.
Cheers!

Brilliant idea my friend. That is provided I don't drink them all before sending them out.

Cheers!

Traditional high-fired Yancha could be only found in HK (or Shenzhen) or SE asia, yes..whereas in Taiwan, aged Dong Ding could be easier to find..BW85 wrote:Sometimes I dream about moving to HK/Taiwan/Malaysia just to be closer to the great teas ...Teaism wrote:Yes, limited few kg and almost gone. High-end Yancha (many make in slightly lighter flavor these days) can be found in Shanghai and sometimes in Beijing, too...but for low-budget guests like us, a personal intimacy is only key
