Revisiting Taiwansourcing's 2014 winter Master Dong Ding. One thing is for certain, no master produced this tea. If I hadn't refreshed this tea in a hojiki, it would remain flat and astringent. Perhaps this has something to do with the unusually long stems that the tea has. Quite a disappointment.

Roasted Alishan GABA oolong. Nice, marmalade and caramel like taste, one of my favorites this year.

Some organic 1st flush Chongtong oolong (Ex25), one of my favorite teas this year. This tea is a beautiful example of what I particularly love about Darjeelings. No matter what you do with it no two sips are the same. Like a multi-faceted gemstone where the slightest change of relative position results in different refractions this tea keeps changing as you drink it, lovely leng xiang (冷香) as well. I have some 30g left to explore with different brewing parameters and will probably order some more.

Zhengyan ShuiXian which has become one of my favorites.
Thick, Aromatic, and Smooth like water.

Having a very nice 2013 charcoal and ginseng roasted oolong from Taiwan. Sadly I don't know anything more about it. It's nice and strong and the perfect tea for a winter day!

2013 Dong Ding mild bake from Tea Hong. This took at least 2 weeks to settle down from its short ride from Taiwan to Bangkok and deliver the aroma and taste that I impatiently awaited. I always put the oolongs into a caddy and let them sit for awhile, but this was an unusually long wait.
Judging by the dry leaves, I could barely catch a whiff of their roast. Into the gaiwan they went, and their floral aroma snapped to life as the water poured onto them. Smelling the gaiwan's lid is always a treat and this gave me a very pleasant and well formed aroma. The taste burst through with its fruity, roasted quality leaving my mouth full of good taste. Slight astringency after many cups but nothing to worry about. A solid performer that I will put into rotation. No refreshing (light roasting) needed. Good to go.

High grade aged DongDing oolong from SilentChaos (from before his tea venture). This is really nice tea. Sweet, smooth and tastes like apples, brandy and cinnamon to me. Perfect for the coldest day of the year so far this year in HK (and for Christmas). The humidity has dropped to 40% and it was in the 35% range earlier today.

Has anyone tried any of Tea Masters' hung shui oolongs? I have been on the hunt for roasted oolong lately and they have a decent selection. I've heard their gaoshan is good.
Drinking some Yunnan gold tip red tea at the moment from Tea Gschwender. I'm in Chicago so I figured I'd stop by and see what they have. I also got a sample of some roasted dong ding from their "Edmonds" line, which I haven't tried yet. Have to wait until I am back home and have my gaiwan.
Edit: I was also reading about Origin Tea recently. Why did the store close down? I saw that the owner is a Teachatter, and that they were only open from 2013-2014. It's sad that it only lasted that long
And that many people on here still haven't found a good replacement for their teas.

From what I could tell, Origin ran into some legal problems with rules and regulations in Taiwan. I'm not privy to the details.

I too miss Origin's oolongs, for I too have run out of them to drink myself!

*TeadOff, nah didn't run into any legal troubles per-se, just too many bureaucratic oversights making things impossible.
