Re: Petr Novák - Pots under influence of tea
Thank you, Chip. As this shibo can hold 200ml it is for heavy, thirsty gyokuro drinkersChip wrote:Lovely "Gyokuro set" Petr.

After several months of pushing on our local clay producer we finally got new batch of high iron clay which we like so much. It is the one I have used for TA SO last year... we unloaded the first kiln of the year with first pieces made from this new batch of clay today. It is slightly different but feels right.

I suppose this is a manifestation of excitement about the new claydebunix wrote:Oooohhhh.

Here is another piece from the new kiln. I am wondering if it is more difficult to make this oil spot tenmoku glaze or to take picture of it...

Wow, all those pieces look amazing, especially the new oilspot and tenmoku work--will you have any more pictures of them up in your album at any point? I'd love to see more of what they look like ...

Thank you all!

And even their standard products vary...In this case we had to buy whole mill, it means 3,5t of the clay. Half of it is under our table and second half with our friends -colleagues. But you know, good clay is like good Puehr - when storage is right, it become better by age. I can send you some!
Enjoy your day

There was just one tenmoku chawan in this firing...and it went to an eshop I work with. It should show up there in the end of the next week.hopeofdawn wrote: I'd love to see more of what they look like ...
I am going to take some pictures right now and make the album up-to-date tonight...but most pieces are already gone. You should come to unload the kiln with us somedayChip wrote:I do not see more in your available now?

Thank you Andrzej. It is not easy to make them do what we would like toandrzej bero wrote:second - you can leverage your local clay producer to make what you need, respect!

Available album is updated...there are not many pieces (no teapots for example) but some of them are still quite interesting. Enjoy.

Another shiboridashi & yuzamashi from the last firing, in use with the new Evergreen/Oribe hagi....

Dark and subtle, with a very functional feeling in the hand.

Thank you for sharing. Have you found the clay as nicely working as the old one? I tried one teapot but I am not the right person to judge here:) Thanks

Re: Petr Novák - Pots under influence of tea
Today for the first time I did a side-by-side comparison with the Gu Zhu Zi Sun: I've spent a lovely morning drinking a meadow of flowers in stereo, from two lovely new cups. The new clay performs just as well as the first batch (at least as best as I can tell with this congestion lingering on). Yay!
One new shibo is heading for work today, so I can enjoy them in each of my principal tea spots.

Peter's shiboridashi are perfect for drinking Darjeelings gongfu style. Fill the vessel 25% full (modified gongfu) with leaf. Pour boiling water. Quick infusions. One of the best ways to enjoy Darjeelings and the incredible perfumed quality that they have.
