No this is a Mukuhara Kashun Yunomi, I am a big fan of his work and hope to acquire a few more piece by him in the future. The glaze is called Kiragi, named after sharkskin, as it is rumored that the effects of the glaze resembled how the sharkskin would look on Samurai's sword handles.

Ah yes I found more pictures in your blog while googling for him, very nice stuff! I have to keep an eye on him for future Hagi purchases...AdamMY wrote:No this is a Mukuhara Kashun Yunomi, I am a big fan of his work and hope to acquire a few more piece by him in the future. I finished the day with Sencha Maruyama from Maiko. This is the first time I've tried this tea. It's very pleasant, light and clean. It could be good for those days when you want something clean and fresh that won't demand your attention.

Likewise, and yes, very lovely indeed ... and perhaps the most unique sencha I have had this harvest ... or even the last several harvests.NOESIS wrote: At the moment I'm finishing a session of O-Cha's lovely organic sencha 7132. Very addictive stuff!

I would like to read your impressions on the Kaboku. I hope you won't wait as much time as it took you to try the Tsuru Jiru Shi gyokuro...Chip wrote:A bag of this is sitting in the TeaFridge, don't think I ever had this one before.NOESIS wrote:Kaboku sencha from Ippodo. Now the Kaboku is in da house, and will likely be opened pretty soon, as soon as I get through an open bag of something.

Re: What GREEN are you currently drinking?
Just had a nice session with some of the inexpensive Tai Ping Hou Kui I got from Wing Hop Fung. Out of the shadow of the quite a bit more elegant version I got from Jing Tea Shop--keeping one at home, one at work, and trying not to drink them in very close succession--it is still a nice spicy sweet green tea.

could you both please describe the flavour of this tea?Chip wrote:Likewise, and yes, very lovely indeed ... and perhaps the most unique sencha I have had this harvest ... or even the last several harvests.NOESIS wrote: At the moment I'm finishing a session of O-Cha's lovely organic sencha 7132. is it similar to the warashina supreme asamushi or what are the differences?
i ordered some o-cha teas 2 weeks ago, but forgot to put it into the shopping cart..

Re: What GREEN are you currently drinking?
There is a sweet roasted-spice element in addition to the usual grassy notes in the dry leaf (especially in the warmed brewing vessel). Kind of reminds me of graham crackers. The flavor is a nice balanced sweet/bitter profile, with the sweet side slightly more pronounced. Some subtle "spicy" notes follow through nicely in the aftertaste (especially first two infusions).sebpassion wrote: could you both please describe the flavour of this tea?

If you like light steamed sencha, you should definitely give this one a try.

Re: What GREEN are you currently drinking?
A bit more rudimentary ... I have noticed distinct warmed cinnamon raisin/cherry bread elements! There is clearly cherry in the aroma, sometimes this comes off as cherry pie.
The cherry is a feature of this newer varietal called 7132. I have tried two teas of this varietal, and this organic from O-Cha is more complex. Someone who did not know what it was might proclaim it to be a subtle sakura sencha!!! But it is not, it is simply a varietal of sencha.
Be sure to smell the leaves in the pot and smell the tea! This is full of culinary sensations!

It's not similar to the Warashina Supreme at all.Sebpassi... wrote:is it similar to the warashina supreme asamushi?
I agree with what the others have said regarding its taste. It's really nice tea, hard not to like.
