Congratulations! That's fantastic!edkrueger wrote:Seeker wrote:Sigh of relief and release...

Yay!

fyi - the photo of chawan with matcha mt fuji and pussy-willow and daffodil I posted earlier -- almost totally accidental. Camera went to sleep - and in my uber-clutsy tiredness waking it up with a 'half press' accidentally did a full button press, and I hadn't really 'composed' it yet.
So much for my intentional composition 'skills'.

Very, very similar. Maybe the same, but given a different name for new years? (i think someone said that on TC somewhere).edkrueger wrote:How does the Shin Shun compare with the regular?
I don't currently have the 'regular' wakamatsu, so I can't compare. But, again, if memory serves, really similar.

Good morning, good day, good evening - whatever's true for you.
Today, a chawan by Robert Fornell, and practicing a little chabana.
(For the matcha shot, see the 'chabana or other tea arrangements' thread).

Cheers, and peace to you and yours.

Tried my hand at Koicha know that I know a bit more about it... consistency might have been a bit on the thin side but it still was rather paint like.
Wow I feel like I can take over the world now!
Definitely need a High grade matcha to pull this off well, as last time I tried it, I made it way to thin, but it was still extremely bitter and unplesant, this time it was nice just packing the right amount of punch.
The Powder was: Wakamatsu-no-mukashi from ippodo.

todays matcha, Organic DoMatcha in this chawan from the pearl dust firing, a massive and rugged bowl that feels wonderful in the hand.

Nice Blairswh..., beautiful!
Have you thought about joining the artisan's thread?

oh, and, I've seen DoMatcha - might you be willing to share a review of it with us? I've been curious about it. What sort of flavors and aromas do you find?

Today's matcha is Shin Shun Wakamatsu-no-mukashi from Ippodo.
The chawan was created by Robert Fornell.

Cheers.
