Maybe its the power of suggestion, but now that you mention it, the sweet/spice element that I'm picking up on could be a cherry smell (or some kind of red fruit).

I'm having Okuyutaka Asamushi Sencha from Yuuki-Cha for the first time right now. It's really nice. Sweet, mild, fruity, not astringent, with a hint of cinnamon.
The dry leaf has a really strong fruity aroma too. Almost like Yutaka Midori Fukamushi leaf. Very different from the predominantly grassy smell of most Asamushi Sencha leaf.
It kind of reminds a little of the 7132. I'd put it into the same category of non-grassy Asamushi.

EDIT: 4th infusion:

The Okuyutaka a nice Asamushi. Have you tried Yuuki's Sayamakaori? It is also on the sweet/fruity side, and not so grassy. One of my go-to senchas, based on quality and price.

By the way, thats a good looking Hagi yunomi.

Started the day with some top-of-their-line Dragon Well from Wing Hop Fung. I was sharing, so drinking from the last infusions while others shared the earlier ones. Good stuff.

I have not tried that one, thanks for the tip!
Thank you, I love this yunomi as well. It was made by Shibuya Eiichi (a TeaChat special offer!). He's a very talented young artist for sure.

Cool photo Stentor! ;)

Having a Seijak Korean green from a TCer currently ... and finding these really like the water cool. 155* in a preheated Korean pot, 1:1 ratio, came out incredibly sweet and good.

I started to drink some Kangchenzodnga Sunset today. It's the first time I've had this particular type of tea. I've had green darjeelings before, but not this one. It was interesting. I like it.

Well not currently drinking but recently finished a session of O-Cha 7132, in a wonderful cluster of Hagi teaware, I'll take pictures next time I brew it up.

chiran sencha

listed as fukamushi, but in my opinion it leans more to a chumushi..

the taste, the wet leaves and the colour of the infusion tell me that..

An Ji Bai Cha from Seven Cups - from a fresh bag purchased to tide me over until the 2011 harvest. Then I'll do comparison tests between Seven Cups and Jing before stocking up.
