been a while since I last saw you, tenuki, how's it hanging?
In a similar theme, I finally finished off the Dayi 7262 701 that I bought six years ago.
Re: Official Pu of the day
Ya, my interest in tea has stayed strong, but my internet interests wandered away from teachat for a while. I'm doing well Shah82, thanks for asking. That 7262 is probably at it's peak right about now eh?shah82 wrote:been a while since I last saw you, tenuki, how's it hanging?

Hey Drax, good to see there are still a lot of the old regulars haunting the puer section, you, debunix, et al. I'm still catching up on my thread reading.Drax wrote:hey tenuki, good to see you, and glad to hear that things are going well!

Sipping a very smooth and fragrant 2012 Yunnan Sourcing Autumn Yi Wu Purple raw pu'er.
Re: Official Pu of the day
I have still to try a purple pu! Drinking shu today--small leaf Dayi from 2010.

Previouly I sipped a very nice one 2013 Hai Lang Hao but it is sold out for quite a while. This one is also quite smooth and aromatic.
Re: Official Pu of the day
YQH Jincha today. I credit this tea as the one that will get me into sheng pu'erh. It is absolutely delicious. I will probably be going in on the YQH group buy again in April, as I'd like to try the Tejipin and possibly another one, depending on my fundage at the time
If anyone else is trying to go in on the YQH group buy too, let me know. If you're in the US I'm trying to find people to split an order with.

Drinking a free mini tuo from Zhong Cha's official vendor on Taobao. They threw in a nice bag full of mediocre mini tuos. They're ok. Relatively clean and smooth drinking. Not something I'd ever buy, though, and I should probably give them away.

2015 Zao Qiao Di Village raw from Yunnan Sourcing. Really smooth and solid. Quite drinkable.

90s 7581--Taiwan dry storage. This is the tea that made me fall in love with shu all over again, and 7581 bricks in particular. Appears to have lost some aroma due to high humidity in the last few weeks, but should open up again now that the humidity has dropped to 55%. Super smooth and pleasant in a sandy pin zini shuiping.

I enjoy trying to get into the heads of vendors. What do they sell? Why do they sell it? How did they source it?
White2Tea has always hit the market with bravado. One recent item, Smooch, has gained a bit of notoriety. I find it amusing that a vendors simplest most lowly offering would garner such attention.
The Smooch sheng puerh ball, upside-down lips and all, is a great little thing. The vendor clearly knows no one is going to age these little puppies. He knows it is a whimsy. I find it somewhat endearing that such a small thing saw such great care! From being clearly processed and formed with attention to the nice paper and rustic natural tie, this orb forms a compete package.
What would you create for a one-shot (8.24g in this case) hit of green fresh Puerh? It would be oh so easy to just roll up some of the crappiest tea and move along. Without stewing it, I really tried to push this stuff to see what it released. Paul did not create something that brewed too bitter. After a respectable number of steepings it left a nice fuzzy-sweet coating at the far back of the throat. I would go back and drink it any day. Sure would like to know from what part of Lincang it originated.
This would make a great gift for non-tea aficionado friends.
Thanks to Boychick for the sample and bravo to Paul. I would like to see the properly aged smooch! Now wouldn't that be something?

A sample of raw puerh from Bana Tea. Sweet, smooth, quite light so next time around I all more leaves.
