Luckily it was only melted pot in this firing...but some glazes have made pools on my kiln furniture...

the shino is not the case...

Another pieces from the last firing, which I haven't shared yet, is a ceramic kettle. I call it "The Psychidelic Teakettle". It was fired twice to 1220°C. First time with the grey slip and then I glazed it by feldspare...Inside it is without glaze. So far it works on both charcoal as well as on electric cooking stove.

Wow, what a great looking kettle! Very reminiscent of the "arare" (hail) type of Japanese metal kettles.

In fact, maybe more to the original intent of the "arare" as it seems quite natural and very close to frozen water droplets...

Thanks Drax. In fact, when I have pull it out from the kiln my first thouth was that this is too much. Too expressive for tea kettle. But then I have tried it, saw it with other tea utensils and I changed my mind...

It is a very eye-catching kettle! I would have considered adding it to my order if I had use for this type of kettle at this point in time. Hopefully one day in the future!

Chip, thank you for taking picture of that teapot. I almost forget that it has gone to your direction...nice shot.

Here is few pictures of one shibo from charcoal part of our kiln. Honestly, I have put it aside during unloading of the kiln and found it few days back...It is quite small, around 90ml, with silky glaze inside.
