Sometimes that can work out pretty well but in this case there's not much tea underneath that smokiness.jayinhk wrote:That smokey stuff needs good storage to show its true colors! It just isn't ready to drink yet.

There might be after five years of humid storage. Storage that is too dry would leave XG tea like that--smoke with no aroma.kuánglóng wrote:Sometimes that can work out pretty well but in this case there's not much tea underneath that smokiness.jayinhk wrote:That smokey stuff needs good storage to show its true colors! I bought some new XG stuff this year that just REEKS of smoke. Even the new JiaJis. I expect it to all be great to drink in ten years. lol

Wow nice leaf ! Love the teaboat. I think I have the sibling of it from Shawn as well.

Drinking 2003 Feng Qing ‘Jia Ji Er Deng’. Day 2. Brewed it better this time. Love the taste, bloody nice tea. Ordered a cake

Re: Official Pu of the day
Nice. Where did you get the pot from? I'm thinking of trying a clay pot for young sheng as opposed to the usually porcelain gaiwan.
Re: Official Pu of the day
Very nice pot and tea boat! I had some 2013 Myanmar maocha from tea-side a few days ago. It had serious longevity and was very smooth and pleasant to drink, and had aged well in only three years!
I tend to use hongni or 1970s qingshuini for dry storage sheng. Neiziwaihong would be good too!

I scoped out Chawang, EoT, and TeaMasters for ~100ml red clay pot. Not much out there right now so I'll check back later. What do you think of this one: http://www.tea-masters.com/en/yixing-te ... eapot.html

Hi Jay, thanks for providing this. I am skeptical of pots on Ebay, but if you're suggesting pots from this seller it's worth a look.jayinhk wrote:How about this?Alucard wrote:I scoped out Chawang, EoT, and TeaMasters for ~100ml red clay pot. There's a whole thread on that seller on here! The pots are just as good as what you'd get from Teamasters and Chawang carries modern hongni too. You want a hongni pot for sheng?Alucard wrote:Hi Jay, thanks for providing this. Yes, hongni or something similar for young sheng.jayinhk wrote:There's a whole thread on that seller on here! That pot will be fine then. My most used young sheng pot is a Factory 1 170ml hongni pot from EoT. Still available and not too expensive, but I'm guessing you prefer a smaller size.Alucard wrote:Yes, hongni or something similar for young sheng.jayinhk wrote:There's a whole thread on that seller on here!
