Re: Ericka O'Rourke (Elm Studios) ceramics
Hello All!!!!
It has been a long time! Years actually - I wanted to pop in to say hi and let everyone who was so supportive of my work back when -what is going on...I took some time off to start up a small artist co-op in my town in hopes of re-establishing the wonderful little village town we once had - it was a very educational experience - lots of ups and downs - but ultimately and rather quickly, I realized that I much rather prefer to be stuck creating in the studio. I also was busy with the kids . . . who are now getting much older and we moved to a new home - and set up a new studio - so I am very happy to say that after a very long time, I am up and running again full time creating my pottery and art. It has been way to long and it feels really great. I am testing a bunch of new glazes and working with some new clays. For anyone interested, you can find me where I was originally in my etsy shop elmstudios! I am working on a bunch of new tea ware and mugs this week in preparation for the holidays. Hope everyone is well and thanks!!! Ericka

Erika,
Wow! My profuse apologies for not noticing it when you joined the TeaWare Artisans group. This thread just "floated to the top" when you posted, and I noticed the name that I did not recognize. A VERY belated welcome to the group.
I like the look of that "lime" glaze on the bowl on the second page with the runny stuff happening up on the lip area. High calcium iron yellow?
best,

PS: I'm originally from northern NJ. Lake Hopatcong. Moved out from the parents house when I went to college in MA... and haven't lived there since.

Thanks for the responses! I'll have to look back at my journals and will look into that chartreuse glaze john! Good to hear from you!
