I love the golden flecks in the clay...how functional do you think it is for the size? I would love to get such a small pot, but I'm a little afraid that the pouring might be weird.

I had a 1970's 40ml yixing that made excellent aged sheng, but I sold it... it was just too small.

my new favor, 40 ml 秀春 shuiping pot.
Size: 40 ml
Age/Year: 80's.
Marks: 秀春 / Square make in Yixing
Walls: Thick (for the proportion) / med. fired
Pour: Smooth +/- 2 sec. Straight clean / No drips.
Source: Old Hong Kong Collector
Tea Pairing: Traditional High Fired Anxi TGY
Info: Great for one person Traditional Kung Fu session. Produce around 10 ml per steep when packed to the top. Lid fit perfectly with great pour. This medium fired pot soaks in heat like stone, and slowly release the energy. Perfect for High Roasted Anxi, you have to press the lid to extract the tea like espresso while pouring. It rounds up the structure and brighten the high notes of my high roasted TGY.

Thanks for the update Tim. I figured it might be good for a heavily roasted TGY. I'm surprised a full pot of leaf only leaves room for 10ml in the end!
Must be potent.

I am 'testing' this for the holidays : ) A 1970s/80s Yixing-Export Kyusu.
Around 180-200ml. Using it both for water and tea for the moment, if I am drunk enough, will test it for boiling water over white charcoal

Just got these for Christmas, being used to cheap $10 pots, these are a real treat. I can defiantly notice a difference in the quality of the pot and the tea they brew. The first is my new sheng pot and the later is my shou pot.

How much did you pay for that tea tray? I have the same one on my desk in my office. I bought mine for $4.00. It is a great little tray.

You must have bought that in China to pay so little. I can't imagine any vendor selling that for so little. Good buy!IPT wrote:How much did you pay for that tea tray? I have the same one on my desk in my office. I bought mine for $4.00. It is a great little tray.
