Re: 2 years later, Asa, Chu, Fuka: name your 'mushicha!
I've had some tea with made from the sames leaves in the different styles. The asa was flavorless, the fuka was cloying. All green tea leaves, however, are pretty much flavorless before they are processed.

+1, woo, we agree.edkrueger wrote:I've had some tea with made from the sames leaves in the different styles. The asa was flavorless, the fuka was cloying. All green tea leaves, however, are pretty much flavorless before they are processed.

Even the final short roast at the end can make or break the whole deal.

More for us then, I guess.

I'm not one to watch soap opera's but as this is playing out sort of like one, I am expecting Ed to be hiding a secret love of Fuka, at which point Asa finds out and leaves him forever.
That being said with the last bits of tea I have mixed Asa and Fuka to make a custom Chu, and have had rather good results with it.

This will be the ultimate faceoff between asamushi and fukamushi (with some chu too).

Started out only drinking deeply steamed sencha, but over the past few years, I've slowly been adding more Asamushi to my routine. Now its probably 75% Asa, 25% Fuka.

I am thinking this is a common trend, though not universal.NOESIS wrote:Started out only drinking deeply steamed sencha, but over the past few years, I've slowly been adding more Asamushi to my routine. Now its probably 75% Asa, 25% Fuka.
The most universal trend is that tastes change, IMHO.
