Re: What GREEN are you currently drinking?
These days some tamaryokucha and dong ding oolong from a local vendor. After I found the proper brewing parameters few good steps can be obtained from them. And I have with me gyoukuro premium from hibiki-an. When I opened and tried I was a bit dissapointed; strong vegetal - seeweed taste and lack of sweetness, so I left it for a while. after 2-3 month I tried again - a nice sweet taste with a mild vegetable hint on the back, probably it was "row" and just need some time to mature. BTW do you have similar experience with gyokuro? or I just somehow changed the brewing parameters? (though I tried to keep them same)
Re: What GREEN are you currently drinking?
Currently on Steep 2 of Hibiki's Sencha Superior. I do not know what it is but I have been on a Japanese green kick lately.
Re: What GREEN are you currently drinking?
I just opened a bag of yuuki uji gokujo and brewed a pot. Did not like. I'm sure I'm messing it up, at least, I hope I am. I read somewhere here that it is supposed to be brewed like gyo but didn't see that on the website. 1g per 1 oz right? Cooler water?
Re: What GREEN are you currently drinking?
IMO, that tea isn't too great. I would avoid all of the Uji products from Yuukicha.
Re: What GREEN are you currently drinking?
at the moment i have some chinese yun wu in my cup.
its one of the first chinese greens i try, but i really like it. sweet, no bitternis and a bargain too.
but i have other chinese greens waiting such as:

next session will be myabi from o-cha at work.

No Maruyama this morning with Chip, we had a nice blend of dribs and drabs of sencha remains. Turned out quite well.
