Re: Hong Kong-Roasted Three Stamp Shuixian
Now that is an excellent question. I believe it is a certification of quality but I don't know for sure. I will get back to you on that

Re: Hong Kong-Roasted Three Stamp Shuixian
Not sure exactly where "three stamp" came from, but it always seems to be a yancha that was purchased from the produce in wuyishan, then taken down to Hong Kong, then re-roasted by a shop owner; usually quite highly fired. All as opposed to a yancha that was finished in the wuyishan as is usually the casewei301 wrote:Hi, just curious, what does "Three Stamp" mean?
Re: Hong Kong-Roasted Three Stamp Shuixian
I'll ask the roaster today. Picking up a bunch! I don't think the name has anything to do with HK. It may just denote that it is export grade. I'll find out!
Re: Hong Kong-Roasted Three Stamp Shuixian
I asked, and yes, three stamp shuixian is a grade (one of the highest). Two stamp shuixian is one grade down.

Re: Hong Kong-Roasted Three Stamp Shuixian
Got an even higher grade of HK roasted shuixian today. Smoother and more refined with more mineral. Really lovely!
Re: Hong Kong-Roasted Three Stamp Shuixian
And replied! Thanks for the interest! I need to increase the price to $18 per 50g. The last batch took me three hours, total, just to pack up and ship. I also slightly underestimated shipping--it is now $10 for 50g, and $2 for each additional 50g.
I picked up just under 700g of the Three Stamp yesterday; looks like 600g is already spoken for. The higher grade is $16.3 for 37.8g (one tael by HK standards).

Does that make it Four Stamp?jayinhk wrote:Got an even higher grade of HK roasted shuixian today. Smoother and more refined with more mineral. Really lovely!

Re: RE: Re: Hong Kong-Roasted Three Stamp Shuixian
lol, there is no Four Stamp on the scale (the Chinese don't like the number four, since it sounds like 'death'), but this tea is definitely a superior grade--if you compare, you'll see what I mean! I only have two more taels of the superior grade left now. One's going to Lucid Om and I kept one for my own consumption! If you paid in the last few days, I haven't shipped your tea yet, so you can add on a tael if you like.Lucid_Om wrote:Does that make it Four Stamp?jayinhk wrote:Got an even higher grade of HK roasted shuixian today. Re: Hong Kong-Roasted Three Stamp Shuixian
150g of Three Stamp left, and one tael of superior grade. That certainly went quick! Thanks everyone! Packing up all this tea is certainly going to be fun!
