Sounds like the beginning of a Russian novel.RussianSoul wrote:This is the fabled Box.
These pix are beyond my wildest imaginings! Apparently only the females (and Tree) were able to visualize the triumphal march of the Box across the USA.
Everything is so beautiful, even the diaper. Thanks so much for sharing, and please tell me those flowers are not plastic.

Plastic?! I am scandalized you could think that of me! Of course they are not plastic, they are silk!Salsero wrote:please tell me those flowers are not plastic.

I am on 8th floor, Sal. I envy you your garden.

Tasting notes: Wen Mountain Baozhong
Wen Mountain Baozhong (Tao of Tea)
I generally like Baozhongs, so I expected to like this one and did.
3g, 9oz, tokoname teapot. This has proven to be a weak ratio. If you don’t do gong fu and use English style brewing, go with 1g to 2oz ratio. This is a gentle and delicate tea, so even a higher ratio will be fine.
The dry leaves smell like a distant prairie, are pretty dark green, and have a number of twigs and stems mixed in. I brewed at 185°F for 3, 4, and 6 minutes and liked each steep. There is no bitterness, a very nice Baozhong tang, smooth and round taste. The second and third steep I used less water – about 6 oz, and it was just right. The second steep had a nice freshness to it in addition to hot prairie aroma and taste. The third was still had a strong color and was flavorful. Bottom line – it is a good tea. I am definitely keeping some of it.

I am packing the Box right now and will ship out to henley on Monday. I did not try all the teas yet, but it is unfair to hold the Box for much longer. So I took small amounts of all the cakes and a few tuocha's to taste later, and the Box will go on.

Bon voyage, Tea Box!
Tea Box has left the Windy City and is on the way to henley.
Henley, I am pm'ing you the tracking number.

Hey everybody,
As someone else asked, how much are the shipping charges to mail this box around? Roundabout figure, of course.
I'm fairly new to teas and this is my first post here, so I wouldn't have been eligible for this TeaSwap anyways, but this 'movement' has me extremely intrigued! Hopefully I could participate in future TeaSwaps if this become a trend.
It would be awesome to try a bunch of teas like this to see what one might like or NOT like - EVEN if some could end up being on the slightly 'stale' side.
Besides, I'm so new to teas that I wouldn't likely realize it at this point anyways! =)

I love starting fires in my fire pit. But for this particular moment in time, I feel like starting up some tea!

Congrats to EastTree and his band of ...sisters...and a brother or 2!!!
This is a bit of TeaChat history in the making. I hope 10-20 years from now, we can look back fondly on this memory as the box continues its never ending (though taking breaks) journey!
This is awesome! BTW, I am giving this a sticky so it never falls off the top of TeaSwap.

Play it again, Sam!
I'm a recent joiner to Adagio and to TeaChat, so I happened upon this thread late in the game, too late to join. But it sounds like an amazing idea, and I am hoping when the fabled box returns home, you will consider putting together a new list and send it around again. I definitely have lots I could contribute for others to sample.
If you make a new list, I would love to participate!
