Japanese green tea, several varieties, but mostly Yutaka Midori. It ruled the last full year and based on the 2008 shincha, will be my main green tea this year as well.
I drink many other types of tea from Taiwan, Japan, and mainland China, and many of them are extremely good, but Yataka Midori is the one I drink most often.

- Yutaka Midori, FTW.
I have been so snowed under by assorted shinchas that I have yet to get to Yutaka Midori, but it will be the next Sencha I go for.
There's so much shincha in this house I need a pair of snowshoes to get around, like these of Chamekke's.

In Japan they call them sencha shoes.

I went with oolong. Sencha was a blip on the radar after the harvest came in, but it wasn't long before I was back with ol' trusty.

Green for me. Sencha, shincha and first flush Chinese green ruled the last two months. I really did not know I liked green tea before I came here to TC.
Xu Fu Long Ya is in my cup. Love it. It is almost time to reorder. My husband gets the giggles every time I tell him about this one. He thinks the name is too funny.

Too much shincha, eh? Maybe all you need is a bigger teacup.Salsero wrote:I have been so snowed under by assorted shinchas that I have yet to get to Yutaka Midori, but it will be the next Sencha I go for.

Re: 60th Anniversary Tea
Happy for all who frequent this thread! Thank you for your daily efforts.Salsero wrote:Today is the sixtieth consecutive TeaDay photo I have posted. Compulsive, a little?
Today is my 4th consecutive day with NO tea! Bottled brown crap from gas stations don't count. Tomorrow begins the first consecutive day of detox for me! Ugh, 5 days of vacation, 4 with no tea, I feel like lead.
Made a pitcher of iced Oolong #40 yesterday & we finished it off tonight w/dinner. Guess I know what I'll be making again!
Ending the evening w/Masala Chai.
Chamekke - Funny pic; especially seeing that cup next to the tiny pot in your avatar!

I don't think vacation is the word normally attached to such shattering experiences. Rather, borrowing from Rimbaud, Une Saison en enfer, would be the more appropriate appelation.augie wrote: Ugh, 5 days of vacation, 4 with no tea, I feel like lead.

Re: 60th Anniversary Tea
The resort we stayed at offered Tazo, but it was all the flowery, fru fru, vanilla-mint stuff I am just not into. I could probably have fit some tea bags into the suitcase but I was too exhausted (before we left). When we did go near S-bux I needed a triple non-fat late more than I needed tea!Salsero wrote: I don't think vacation is the word normally attached to such shattering experiences. Now I am ready for a vacation from my vacation -- I want my own bed and my teapot!!!
Re: 60th Anniversary Tea
I suppose here is probably not the place to inquire about your personal detox methods. Nor include mine (mine are numerous anyway, aquarians ruled by intuition), but I was rather curious.augie wrote: Tomorrow begins the first consecutive day of detox for me! I always prefer my own bed and my teapot. I want a "real" vacation/mental vacation. I want to be left alone to think and have as many undisturbed ounces of quality Oolong that I like.

Couldn't you have found room in the suitcase for one mini-bing?

I don't think it's very nice of you to pick on me.chamekke wrote:Too much shincha, eh? Maybe all you need is a bigger teacup.

What did I ever do to you.
Come to think of it, it would be handy to have a teacup that I could also bathe in. I could make Chip's TeaBaths a reality in my life! I would feel like a <KING>
