lol, sorry Victoria
Salsero, no problem, all of the Li-Shan and Ali Shan I have tried have been very, very good but this one really blew me away. I didnt mean to imply Bao Zhong was a high mountain oolong.. Im not sure where it comes from personally but I've tried three so far and the only one that has really impressed me was the 2 year old tree.

Auggy and Chemekke--I will keep your friends and family in my thoughts.
How long does it take for you to pick out your next tea to drink on average?
Well now, that depends! If it's the first tea of the morning, then seconds--it's going to be black and strong. There are about 6-10 choices, and I try to choose something I didn't have the day before.
If it's lunch or dinner, then seconds. It's going to be black and iced.
If it's evening, then there will be a several minute delay...to oolong or not? That is the question...whether 'tis more interesting to try something new, or enjoy that #8 again. Hmmm.
If at the tea store, then up to ten minutes or more. Shall it be an old favorite? Or..shall we sail into uncharted tea waters?
Although my neighbors are all barbarians,
And you, you are a thousand miles away,
There are always two cups on my table.

Auggy & Chamekke-so sorry to hear about your sad news.
for the poll, i went with at least a minute. it takes me a while to choose what tea i want since i have way too much tea on my shelves at the moment. also, i don't want to make a bad decision or i'll be thinking about the tea i could have had until i get the chance to drink it.
this morning i had yunnan royal gold as pictured below. it was quite delicious. in a few minutes i'll be making some genmaicha.

Giving Ancient Tea Flowers another shot, from Rishi. They are different than the Upton ones I had from a few years ago, but pretty similar. The caramel aroma is less noticable.
Anyone who gets this, you have to use a lot of flowers, easily 2 tablespoons, which is 5 grams.

OMG! That's fantastic! Are you going to leave it a line drawing, or is there a color plan?

The instrument is a qin, though a chainsaw would've been an interesting twist.
Its a Ukiyo e woodcut done by Nishikawa Sukenobu of Wu Zhi, daughter of Xingwamu. Its jsut the outline so far, I will be going back in a few weeks for the color. Here's a look at the original picture to give you an idea:

got the yunnan gold from chado tea room in los angeles when i was visiting california last week. it was overpriced but exactly what i needed while on vacation. it doesn't taste peppery to me, its a very smooth tasting black but i'm no expert in black teas and i'm not very good at describing flavors.
space samurai-that is a fantastic tattoo! i'd love to get something done like that.

If somebody wants to start off a show your tattoo thread, I'm in...
Word to the wise- if you don't know already- coloring fades over time. I decided against it for mine and just went with shading and outlines.
Looks good-

Glad you mentioned these cause they were on my mind yesterday. Got a question for anyone who's tried the Ancient Tea Flowers (any brand). I tried Chamomile for the first time last night & it confirmed that I do NOT like to drink anything floral. Have wanted to try the Tea Flowers but after yesterday's experience, am a little hesitant. Does it taste or smell floral?
Space - All I can say is "Ouch!".
