After perusing the Announcement again, I realized just how much work must have gone into this and I would like to thank Adagio and Chip again for all the effort and hard work that went into this project to bring it to fruition.
How exciting that we as TeaLovers can be part of this wonderful endeavor. I am a newbie, and also believe that I may not be qualified for the testing/review, however on the other hand, maybe these vendors would like to hear how 'newbies' feel about their high quality teas.
I would never even begin to delude myself into believing that I would have the expertise of most of you here. But, a review by someone who is not already jaded or has their mind set on an absolute favorite might be a good thing! Please know that I am extremely jealous of all of you who know exactly what you like and what it should taste like, how it should be brewed..... I want to be like that someday and I know it will happen. I learn daily from y'all and am proud of that. Jaded/has their mind set is a good thing not bad, so please do not misunderstand me!
I am really looking forward to allowing my TeaPassion to grow along with my TeaFriendships here at TeaDay!
Have an absolutely FABULOUS afternoon here at TeaDay
Chip, I too am now wondering, who is this Delilah? Such a scandalous name!
P.S. Chip, while heading back to your TeaCave, why not stop by Shelob's Place for some tea and a yummy snack?!

I was just thinking about what a good idea the TCR is, for a number of reasons. Of course, we all rely on one another's experiences with various teas as far as brewing parameters, vendor choices, etc.
But I was also thinking about how helpful it would be to me, as a newbie sort of blossoming into maturity on my tea journey... to be able to taste and review a tea in the company of others simultaneously doing the same... because I think it helps me to develop a more intelligent palate... and helps me speak the language of others more experienced than me. If someone talks about qi or mouthfeel or astringency or whatever... and I can use their parameters and taste what they taste, then I will truly learn something about that tea and how to taste it.
Just rambling... can't wait for this to get up and running.

***This organic blend is earthy & spicy, with a fragrant aroma & smooth flavor to captivate the senses. Naturally sweetened in the Kentucky sunshine & infused with natural energy. Equally delicious when served piping hot or crisply chilled.***

Delilah, let's just say I keep scissors and my hair far a part when she is around.Shelob wrote: Chip, I too am now wondering, who is this Delilah? Such a scandalous name!

The tea sounds interesting, but the snack part raises the hair on the back of my neck.

Regarding several comments on worthiness of our newer and more humble members, your review contributions are most definitely welcome! This TC/TCR was designed with all TeaChatters in mind. I encourage EVERYONE to get involved and learn from the experience, and sample great teas along the way.
It is a great opportunity to try around 5 premier examples of a particular tea, completely chosen by TeaChatters and to share them with our fellow TeaChatters. I am truly excited at the proposition.
blah blah blah SENCHA blah blah blah!!!
I'm in the same boat - but with a work deadline.leiche wrote:Sounds great! I'm up for it.
In an awful mood today, but hoping that some houjicha will lift my spirits. I've lost all motivation to work on a paper, despite a fast-approaching deadline.
It's complicated and I'm dreading finishing it.
The weight of it hanging over me is definitely effecting my mood.
Maybe I'll try switching to a favorite oolong.

For those of you who are newbies and don't really feel qualified to participate, trying samples of many different teas is the absolute best way to become more like all the pros here. I'm no pro myself but since I joined teaviews my knowledge base has grown tremendously just by experiencing and experimenting with so many teas from different vendors.
I now have a very clear sense of what I like and don't like which helps a lot when I pick teas. It saves me from wasting money on poor quality teas as I often did when I first started. I am very excited about this program because as I understand it, the members nominate the teas that are used. With so many knowledgeable folks around here, we are sure to get the absolute best that the tea world has to offer without actually having to go bankrupt in the process.

Chip, I am beginning to wonder about you!

You crack me up and I am sure keep us all laughing and wanting more.
Cold Japanese green on the rocks in my tall green glass that is infused with 'fishies'!
Actually I went for a Pu-erh.
Craving something different than
my work stash, which is sometimes lacking.
I forgot about my Rishi Green Tuo Cha.
Delish!
