I'm on my second steep of this morning's work brew:

2006 Mengku Wild Arbor King raw pu-erh brick

This is the first pu I have tasted that has the bacon smell.
I won't be ordering this brick, I'm working from a sample,
but it is enjoyable enough for a change of pace.

Awwww I am so sorry. How sad. Our animals are such a big part of our lives and so devoted to us, asking for so little. My heart goes out to you, hang in there. In time it will be easier and the memories sweet.

You choose a very appropriate tea to honor your friend.

I'm definitely more of a green gal myself, though the fondness of ye olde green leaf often drags me into the wonderful world of oolongs and whites.

But then again, I'm new to the tea scene, so I don't really have that many safe zones yet. I'll try anything once, and I love the option of buying samples instead of the larger tins. It's very convenient for us tea noobs just in case there's a particular tea we buy, but then don't like.

:D

10% in/90% out. There is too much out there to try to be married to one.

on a different note, we had to put our dog down yesterday. her name was nala, and we loved her a bunch. it hurts so much not to have her by me now that i don't even know what to say. it would do me some good to think that a few of you out there might be sparing a thought for friends who've moved on while sipping their tea today. i can't seem to think of anything else, just now.

That sucks. I know a dog named nala.

I don't have a dog but there is one at work. He sits by me and forever watches my hands (mostly because I'm always slipping him treats). No matter how many times he watches me make tea knowing full well he doesn't like it, he is still hopeful I'll let him check it out anyway and that this time he'll like it. I always let him take a whiff of my tea since he insists, he always smells it, and always turns his head away in disgust.

I'm drinking a sheng. Not sure which one. It's all written in Chinese.

Actually I did! I had a bacon, egg and cheese panini. They went quite well together.
:)

Maybe you should try some matcha, it seems to be a pet favorite around here!
:)

That is bad to hear. I just sent a couple kilos.
Feel free to redirect that to me, Chip. I'm running sadly low on teas right now!

Oh no! I'm so sorry. It is so hard to lose a pet - they are a part of the family. I still miss my kitty that I lost in April.

And on that same depressing note, Dina/TimeforTea hasn't been around lately but she recently lost her dog, Poppy, to cancer.

I want to go home and love on my kitties now.

Oh no! So sorry to hear about TimeforTea's pup too!
Oy. Sad tea day indeed.

Ditto, TeaGuru (except the gal part  )! Welcome to the forum! Be sure to stop by here and share what is in your cup often.

Chiran Supreme from O-Cha. This is really green.

That is very sad :(
Losing loved ones is always a tough test on ourselves. Be strong and have some good tea.

I guess I stay in my comfort zone 70% of the time and explore outside of it 30%.

What I tend to do is to slowly expand on what I know I like, over time constantly reaching beyond what I have tried, like and ever-growing circle. I do this partly for budget reasons. I don't want to be stuck with a tin of tea I don't like. The slowness factor is because I don't want to become overstocked with tea.

I have drinking oolongs over the last few days. Earlier today I enjoyed a pot of oolong #8 and right now I am enjoying a cup of jasmine #12.
