Was a bad girl yesterday and ordered more tea thanks to
Maitre_Tea's blog referral. I FINALLY, FINALLY found some
Korean Oolong tea that looks promising.
You make it seem as though it's a bad thing to buy more tea  Favorite tea of the month for me has def. oolong, and in particular a high roasted TKY from Shan Shui Teas. I've been hearing good things about Just4Tea's high roasted TKY, and I'll be getting to that in a few weeks. I sent them a message about a free sample, but I've got nothing yet. Does anyone know how long it takes for a free sample to arrive?
It took awhile. If I were you I'd wait for the sample. I'm one of the few though that thought it was undrinkable. It is definitely at the far end of the spectrum.

Happy Birthday shogun89!!

This month I actually have two choice teas, both of them herbals.

Since I'm new to tea, I hadn't yet encountered the lovely honeybush or the zingy lemongrass, but my local tea lady had me try some. I'm in love! And my mother loves the lemongrass, since she's a lemon nut and her doctor told her she can't have caffeine for a while. She loves to have a cup every night before bed, maybe with a touch of chamomile in it. I used a lemongrass and honeybush blend to make a lovely jug of iced tea. Marvelous!

My shipment of Adagio teas arrived today! Yaaay! I've got a gazillion samples to try! I ordered so many samples!

Honeybush sampler, coconut, coconut pouchong, white peach, vanilla, libra, jasmine #12, wild strawberry, raspberry patch, and hazelnut! And those are just the samples! I also ordered 2oz of White Cucumber and White Grapefruit, and 4oz of Peppermint! That's a lot more Peppermint than I thought! Oh well!

Right now I'm drinking a 2nd infusion of my sample of Jasmine #12. The little balls are wonderful to watch unfurl! I adore floral teas, though this one it a touch overpowering. I think I'm going to either reduce the tea used, reduce the steeping time, or try blending it with some of my Oolong. I've had Oolong and Jasmine mixed together before, and it's a lovely combination.

Dragon Pearl Jasmine is a very dense tea, so you use LESS, so you are correct, use less. It should not be overpowering. I usually will smell it as it is brewing to help me figure when it is done. The sniffer never lies. Just a levelish teaspoon per 6 ounces.

Just had Adagio's new black, Fujian Baroque. A nice complex black. Oaky, fruity, balmy and sweet. Not as dark in the cup as most Keemun.

Happy Birthday, Shogun89!!! Looking forward to the pictures of the new tea ware!

My favorite tea for October was the nice sencha that I got from Roji Tea Lounge.

Started today with some Karigane and brewed it with less leaf. I used a bit too little leaf, but it tasted better than when I tried to brew it with more leaf. Next step is to find the happy medium between the two. Now I am drinking cherry-rose sencha and have a travel mug of Birthday tea to take with me for tutoring.

Happy birthday, shogun89!

For some reason my Golden Monkey came out badly tonight. I think I brewed it too long. I'm going to have some Ceylon Sonata instead.

Happy birthday Shogun!

I went with black as the first 3 weeks or so were all about blacks.

Pu-erh came out on top in the last week or so.

Thanks everyone! I just opened my tea present and got my new cups, gaiwan, tea table, brush and pitcher and used it tonight and am quite satisfied. Got school tomorrow so no pics yet, but I will try to have them up by tomorrow afternoon.

This evening, I opened up a gift of Sencha Overture from a secret Adagio employee. The dry leaf smells nicely sweet, surprising for a 2nd flush. I had to try some, but too late for all that caffeine, so I blended a bunch of Mugicha with some of the leaf. MMMMM. I love the blendability of Japanese tea!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
blah blah blah SENCHA blah blah blah!!!
