Smari, That sounds interesting, maybe you could post instructions/recipe under miscellany?

Avocado bubble tea? I am intrigued! And a bit scared, but kind of scared like looking at a rollercoaster with a triple loop or something - the good kind of scared. I wonder if the nearby Bubble tea bar has that. I loved their coconut bubble tea... very caloricly friendly, of course, as I'm sure the avocado would be.

Hey Chip (or other folks in the know), have I missed stuff about the upcoming tasting of the Ali Shan?

My head hurts. I can't decide if it is from tea withdrawl, voting or just work. Probably all three. Pity me!

Tea withdrawal, definitely tea withdrawal. I keep telling you, keep more tea at work!

I know, I know! I even thought of you this morning as I tried to get my brain working enough to grab what I'd need to make tea at work, but my though processes were too slow and I had to abandon the project. I knew you'd be disappointed with me!

Nope you have not missed anything. The voting on the finalists is next, then finally signing up to participate. As long as you check out TeaDay regularly, I will be making announcements here. :D

Last up was Yunnan Noir, the new black from Adagio. Very attractive deep red liquor. Complex profile, I pick up dried fruits, cocoa, and faint pepper.

I got the Jungpana FF from Tea Emporium, and it was above average, but not in the class with the Castleton Moonlight 2nd Flush. I get shivers when I think of how good the Castleton Moonlight FF must be.

I found Adagio on one of the galleries that feature beautiful design. I liked the design so much that I thought that these people should be supported for the effort – and I bought a green tea sampler.
Then one thing led to another and the rest is history :)
Have not had tea yet which is disappointing. Going to brew Dragonwell in a minute.

Sometimes it is hard with a busy schedule, but we really do appreciate that you stop by to keep in touch. Hope exams go well for you.

I remembered that I came to Adagio the vendor because they were mentioned in a New York Times article about tea, a novel beverage I had just started drinking a bit of.

In my cup all morning: Yang Yan Gou Qing Chinese green. Now drinking some anonymous orphan tea that Bronzebed sent to Omegapd who handed it off to me. Only two things are legible on the package "Dirt/Wood" and "aged one." I'm not sure if the latter refers to me or to the tea, but it is not as bad as I was prepared for. "Dirt/wood" is a pretty accurate appreciation, but it is blessedly light in flavor compared to what it could have been.

Ooo, exciting. I just had a phone call from John McCain! He and Barack Obama have been calling quite a bit lately. I think they like me.

Actually, in this case it is more like drinking downriver.

Awh, well it's nice to know that you're thinking about me

But yeah you must see your project through!

Sal, I forgot to tell you how much I liked the photo today.

And your wit can be very amusing... I like the 'aged one' reference....
In my cup.... wine oops

I can safely say it was a little of both. I first discovered Adagio after I had bought an IngenuiTea from a seperate supplier. After cruising the site and investigating possible tea choices, I then ventured onto Tea Chat to see what other people were saying about these teas (reviews are all well and good, but I wanna chat about them :) ). So I hadn't ordered anything from Adagio yet, but I still got into TeaChat.

I'm currently enjoying some Jasmine #12. It's a lot better now that I've reduced the amount of tea I use. I now steep 7-8 pearls per cup, and it's lovely and light. My co-worker said it looked like worms...that little bugger.

I also had a cup of Ti Kuan Yin with some (President's Choice) Jasmine, Hibiscus tea (could have used a bit of sugar, me thinks), Sencha with a pinch of peppermint and Hibiscus, and Coconut Black. Now I'm off to make a second infusion of my Jasmine #12!

Ohh, I definitely will have to. I want people to be able to give it a try. These bubble teas can also be found in a lot of Asian mom/pop restaurants and/or bakeries, especially in China town- they're everywhere! Hehe.

It's not as bad as it sounds lol. It tastes like a blended ice green tea drink to me (which I also love making from pure matcha).

Sadly the progression went: Vulture found Adagio, referred me to it via a gift certificate, I purchased a few items and found the sampling method very cost effective, Vulture found TeaChat and went on for a few days talking about it before I found my way here to become something of a lurker who is active in bursts. Thus we have me lurking about and asking questions as well as poking the tea newbie who brought me here. Luckily this is a decent group so I've no complaints but I fear going back to my tea addicted self from a few years ago who somehow couldn't go ten minutes without a cup. Luckily my kidneys love me so I shall do well over the next few years if I do become a cocain- err, tea addict again.

Current cup: Earthly Pleasure (Vulture's blend) to re-sample at a hotter steep so I can finish my critique of the blend. Before it was a few experimental mixes including Blood Orange + Apple + Ginger (bleh, still not a fan of the orange), Blueberry + Blackberry at a lower temperature than recommended (~190, 3 minutes, pretty good compared to the previous samplings), and Green Anji + Ginger (decent as it offsets the veggie taste of the Anji but it is only decent). Luckily I've had two good cups of the Rooibos Jasmine and Jasmine #5 to prep me for samplings so I can't say it was a mediocre day in my cup. Ah, days off are wonderful and the perfect time to sample effectively.
