This is where the magic- ok, sorry - This is where I make my tea, on my fancy cutting board tea tray.
I typically try to keep this area uncluttered, so a lot of the teaware I don't use as often is stored in a cupboard directly above this.

It's chocolate mint.beachape wrote:What is in the plastic zip-lock and the glass juice jar. Looks interesting
I wish. It's a fairly standard issue tea tray design but the wood is lovely. I think I've got some better pics somewhere I'll stick up later.Victoria wrote:Wow, I love that! You built it?Proinsias wrote: In the living room:
I don't think that's nerdy at all. That way you have a batch of really high quality stuff and a batch of every-day tea. Maybe I should do the same with my mint.depravitea wrote:It's chocolate mint.beachape wrote:What is in the plastic zip-lock and the glass juice jar. Looks interesting
I've been growing/harvesting it all summer. I pull some, hang it upside down to dry, then I remove the leaves from the stem and put them in airtight containers (the jar and freezer bag.)
I was nerdy enough to separate the leaves by quality as well lol
To use the tea grading scale, I guess you could say the jar is Orange Pekoe and the bag is Broken Orange Pekoe.

Good attempt at humor though.
I give you points for trying.

The more I see this tea table, the more I want it. The pattern is so nice. and it sets off the teaware most lovely!coloradopu wrote:being from the south and having a red neck of my very own "red enough to warrant comments from my wife on occasion" and...... being the proud owner of a alcohol production device which sits on the porch as decoration. i believe my mason jar use is standard for anything i want to store , drink, transport , brew , filter ,.........depravitea wrote:If you're referring to the jar I used to store mint, it originally contained my son's grape juice - and I don't drink from it, whiskey or tea.
