Just wondering if/how tea affects alcohol absorption/metabolization in the body...?

I've never had a Long Island Iced tea that actually has tea in it, so that really doesn't count.

If you want to experiment you can try this crazy recipe I found on this forum.
Ingredients:
*48oz boiling water
*1 teaspoon loose oolong tea leaves
*2 teaspoons loose white peppermint tea leaves
*16 mint leaves for garnish
*peppermint schnapps or lime juice for rimming splenda for rimming
*12 oz malibu rum
Instructions:
1.) pour 1 teaspoon each white peppermint and oolong teas in a tea infuser. 2.) pour 6 oz. boiling water over tea leaves. let steep 5 mins. 3.) pour tea into pitcher. repeat. 4.) add an additional teaspoon of white peppermint tea to the 5th cup. 5.) add the malibu rum 6.) rim 6 glasses/cups with either peppermint schnapps or lime juice and splenda 7.) tear mint leaves in half and place 4 halves in the bottom of each cup/glass 8.)pour tea and rum over the mint leaves.
makes 6 servings
Cooking time is around 42 min
I don't think the oolong leaves will make any difference on alcohol metabolization anyway.

Um yeah, hence why I said it was yummy. Time consuming process, but worth it!

I wasn't speaking of me (I wouldn't dare to drink this "beverage") but of the poster of this recipe.

What made her loopy? This sounds like Chips mantra "Like what you drink and drink what you like."

You know, you might know her. You are both living in the same state and share quite the same tastes for tea.

Considering my broad spectrum of taste in tea, pretty much any flavor of true tea either by itself or blended (except for annis and fennel) and most herbals- that's leaving things pretty open lol. I doubt it thought. I have very few friends/family that drink tea.
