Green! Definitely of Japanese sort. I am also looking forward to sampling the new greener oolongs, but primarily, I am waiting for the Japanese greens.
I had some Yutaka Midori earlier today though I am currently enjoy a mug of mulled cider.
I'm boycotting today's poll... I am eagerly anticipating shincha, green oolongs, and first flush Darjeelings. I will not be forced to choose! If I were forced to choose, I would sue the governing body who tried to commit this viscious act of tyranny, and then I would vote Darjeeling, by a hair.
In my cup now, some Nepalese Oolong from the pass box... tastes quite Darjeeling-ish, I like!

***This organic blend is earthy & spicy, with a fragrant aroma & smooth flavor to captivate the senses. Naturally sweetened in the Kentucky sunshine & infused with natural energy. Equally delicious when served piping hot or crisply chilled.***
And furthermore... I think Darjeeling deserves its own category on these things... seems so unfair to lump it in with blacks when it's really nothing like a black at all!

I agree about Darjeeling. It's like it's from another planet. The more I drink it the more I think it isn't a black tea at all. It's some kind of a multi dimensional time traveling tea that transcends all categorization. But then, I digress.......
I am eagerly awaiting shincha and the new harvest of Chinese greens, particularly Long Jing. So green. While I'm waiting I have ordered some Tai Guan Yin oolong from Rich Barbarian. I was, as usual, inordinately influenced by posters in the oolong section of TeaChat.
Organic sencha this morning and a very good Yunnan black tea this evening. No Darjeeling in sight. I suspect that it will end up as a feature tea craving tomorrow.

Hi Saretta, welcome to the forum. There were some years not too long ago when this would have been my top answer. Maybe in a few years ... again.Chip wrote:saretta wrote:Looking forward Darjeeling 1st flush!

Hi Victoria, nice to meet you! I took the "gentiana" flower photo in Alto Adige Alps (near Austria's borders) last summer... terrific colors!Victoria wrote:Welcome saretta! Love your purple avatar flower!

Coming back to FF Darjeelings I appreciate the fact their nature, especially some clonal variety, is very close to greens, which I've always loved besides harvest matters!
So you love oolongs too?? Are you my twin?saretta wrote:Hi Victoria, nice to meet you! I took the "gentiana" flower photo in Alto Adige Alps (near Austria's borders) last summer... terrific colors!Victoria wrote:Welcome saretta! Love your purple avatar flower!
