Karigane is very sweet. so you can make tasty green tea if you doesn't have advanced skill to prepare Japanese tea
Please google "K a r i g a n e" and "U j i"!
I recommend A ki b a m a r t's, if that helps.
Interestingly, Gary is not in London it seems, but somewhere in or near Tokyo. Draw your own conclusions ...
I have edited "Gary's" post so the vendor will not draw search results, etc.

I do like kukicha. To me, it has a milder taste than my other Japanese tea of choice, fukamushicha. It's easier to brew and just has a different flavour profile.

Well, how about a teeny revival of Kukicha/Karigane topic?
This is actually a tea I am returning to.
Just received a pkg of organic kukicha from rishi today.
Had two infusions. Really liked it. Very evident tannins - mmmm. Like.
Question - does kukicha have a higher level of caffeine? In the 2 or 3 hours following my draughts, I felt, well, an odd level of what I can only call anxiety like symptoms. Kukicha is the only thing I did different today.
Wondering if stems might contain higher levels of caffeine or some other compound?
Sure like the tea tho! On another day when I don't have to see clients, I'll try again, see if I get the same experience.

from what I have read from various vendor websites, it has very little caffeine.
I guess it also depends on what the kukicha is blended with, because most of the times its not just straight kukicha, but even then I imagine the caffeine to be low
How hot was the water that you used?

mmmmm, kukicha.
I am not 100% convinced that kukicha is extremely low in caffeine, but it is lower.
