But that also doesn't mean that everyone can taste the caffeine either.
EDIT: oops, you edited as I was posting.
I don't even know if I can, just speculating a bit. However, any caffeine taste should be significantly more apparent in a subtle beverage such as tea. Tea is full of subtle nuances and depth, very complicated yet usually coming together so nicely.
Finishing the TeaDay with DW and FF Darjeeling Sungma SFTGFOPI FLOWERY BLAH BLAH BLAH. This would be a very pricey one but received it compliments of the "A" team. First impression, nice aroma ... but then the first sip, sweet and fruity on the front end, quite assertive but not overt. The second steep was profoundly sweet and fruity.
I could enjoy this one hot or cold straight up anytime. delish. The best FF I have had this year.

It would actually be rather nice to have decaffeinated teas that were superior to caffeinated teas simply so I could drink tea all the time instead of realizing that it is 9 o'clock at night and brewing something that I crave would result in less than adequate sleep. I really wanted a cup of strong black tea, but knew if I had some, it would keep me up enough to mess with the already meager amount of sleep that I get at night. The low to no caffeine "teas" that I have just don't work sometimes.
Started today with a mug of no-name Ceylon and drank sencha with matcha for the rest of the afternoon. Sadly, I promptly got distracted when I got home so by the time I finally got around to wanting to make tea, it was too late to have any of the ones I wanted since they would probably keep me up all night. The poll topic was very appropriate.
