2014 bamboo sheng from Chawangshop--can't remember exactly what it's called, but I've been drinking it with mineral water from the Himalayas here in Mumbai. It appears to have aged some in the bag. Quite astringent and not much to write home about; it might be better down the line. I only bought a 50g bag or so to try back in 2015 (I think).
I brought a bunch of sheng to India and now wish I brought some shu along...

Color me nuts, but I've just bought two more tongs of the 2013 XG T8653 and I'm 'celebrating' the purchase with another pot of that stuff. So far I've kept the cakes in one of my 60l makeshift pumidors (large, clear plastic boxes with humidifiers) and they emit a surprisingly sweet lovely smell of flowery honey with just a wee bit of that signature XG smoke that's more present in the cup. Can't help it but I really like that stuff (great power and throatiness) and I'm pretty sure that it and the other Xiaguan cakes, bricks and tuos in my stash will age a lot better than some of my fancy boutique cakes.

Long Men 龙门 Yiwu 易武 spring 2017 sheng sample from Cha Shifu. Probably my favourite of the Yiwu young teas I have tasted for a while. The aroma and taste is really great in my pu'er tea beginner's opinion.

Both Mumbai and HK are cool right now...HK got 8"+ of rain in 24 hours and Mumbai got 4-5". It's been raining continuously for days! Hot aged sheng a couple days ago was perfect! And Indian people drink hot chai even when it's over 45 Centigrade

I've been here a week...today was the first time I've seen sunshine since getting here.

Sipping onother fresh 2017 Yiwu sheng. This time is the 2017 Gushu Yiwu Gaoshan from Pu-erh.sk

After all, once you've warmed your body with boiling hot tea, 45C seems mildly pleasantjayinhk wrote: ... And Indian people drink hot chai even when it's over 45 Centigrade...

2015 Menghai 'Chen Xiang Yayin'
Interesting stuff, more complex and dynamic than most Dayi shus I've tried; not the most powerful or enduring shu but pretty expressive and mellow at the same time, nicely balanced, sweet and creamy; looking forward to a comparative tasting against some of my favorite shus later this week.

Thanks. Sipping some more of that wetter stored (and thoroughly aired out) Liming tuo right now. This is some really complex stuff that keeps surprising me every time I brew some up but unfortunately it's not available anymore with that particular storage.jayinhk wrote:Nice review! It's the one below but with a different production date (2009) and pretty heavy humid storage. I had to air the tuos out for a couple months.jayinhk wrote: Which specific tuo is it, and which year?

I bought a couple of those tuos from Honza and a guy from Shanghai as well and while they're pretty nice they don't have the complexity of those humid stored tuos. Last night I could smell distinct, citrusy and perfumey notes of bergamot (of all aromas), something I haven't noticed in any sheng so far.
BTW, I have some 2008 XG Happy and other XG tuos with what seems like the same heavy storage from the same friend and they're pretty amazing as well, especially when compared to the same stuff (same date stamp) with drier storage.
