I find rather amusing/sad that a person who collects teapots based on their personal taste is considered a 'garbage collector'.
I mean, seriously. If a pot brews tea well and you find it beautiful, do you really need someone else's arbitrary classification of 'art' or 'antique' or 'masterwork' to enjoy owning and using it?

I have to agree with you. The Term "garbage collector" is not a very nice one. Just because a teapot is below another person's personal quality level does not make it garbage. It might be a precious object to its owner. I have teapots worth many thousands of dollars, and yet have teapots that would cost around $100.00USD and in some cases, the cheaper teapots are more valuable to me for the memories connected to them.

Here is my newest Zisha addition. It is an incense burner shaped like a Arhat on a stone. The smoke comes up through his bowl. It is 20cm tall. It is a lot of fun and I thought I would share.

Wow, lovely detail on that sculpture--I like how he's set down into the stone, as well. It's a very nice touch.

+1. One of my favorite pots was found for $7 at an antique barn upstate. It's not very old, but the clay is good, craftsmanship is good, and it performs very well! I actually love it even more because I rescued it from a dusty antique shop, rather than if I had paid $70 at a tea shop.
My idea of "garbage" only applies to teapots which are unusable due to horrible clay or horrible craftsmanship. Everything else is all good!

Here is a new zisha teapot I just added to my collection. The photos do not come close to showing off its quality. It is made of exceptionally high-quality Zini ore. It was made by Shen Jiangni and holds 300cc. It is a varient of the classic ShuYin shape. It has has two dragons twisting in and out of it and their scales peek out on the lid and bottom of the pot. It really is a work of art. The clay is pretty high fired and is surprisingly thin. I purchased a pair, the other is made of Duanni ore, but I can only post three photos at a time, so I am only posting this one.

Is the following pot, fake/polished or real? It would be nice if the pot was a real wu ni, wu hui or heixing ni; so I need to confirm this.
Opinions, please.

Stunning indeed! The dragon pot...pity about the large capacity. I'm not into large pots but each to their own.
The black pot is intriguing me.

I wish chrl42 were around here.
