Even this "white on white" from Jing UK, is actually white on creamy beige.
Disappointing.Image
Wow. If that's the case, this photo is really deceptive.

Yeah, very different, looks great in the pic. It is a very nice shape, feels good in the hand, but not white-white.

All these sets are made by a Taiwanese company called Eilong.

Here's their English site:

This is the white-on-white crystalline line, I think:

I was fortunate to visit their booth at the Expo, I scored on the greatest "travel sets." They look just like gyokuro sets. Perfect for really premo gyokuro since they hold around ONLY 2 ounces.

I brew some reallllly great Yame Gyo from Zencha in them, 2 grams per 1 ounce water. WOW, frickin' good.

They said their site would be fully operational in a month. Must be korean time.

Come on Cyn, FULL disclosure!!!
blah blah blah SENCHA blah blah blah!!!

Eilong in the Bay Area

by Angela Justice » Aug 8th, '08, 15:11

You can buy quite a few Eilong pieces at Teance in Berkeley. They are beautiful. Does anybody want to send me some for Christmas?

No, no, no! Fortunately, I got busy with some stuff. There should be a teaware anonymous hotline! 1-800-dont-buy

I'm not coming back to this thread. [folds arms]

Amusingly that's how this whole hunt for Eilong started.

Sorry, I just caught the tail end of the thread. They are very nice at the factory. They have a beautiful production area. Many of the workers have been there for more than ten years. Lots of work by hand. Eilong is truly committed to making sure historic porcelain glazes don't fall into obscurity. I have a tray from them on my desk that I picked up in Taiwan. :D

Heh. We know you waaaaant to....

I sent a second e-mail inquiry to Tea Centre and this time they responded very quickly. It looks like I'll be getting that Eilong green set after all; it can be sweet company for my still-en-route Eilong gaiwan.

Budget? What budget? Who says I have to eat, anyway?
