Now you know how the slimming tea diet works.

It's more precious than some members of my family. Would you like a cousin instead?

Does said cousin come trained to prepare tea?

I think this is my first time posting under this thread! I'm not a huge fan of traditional Asian teaware (me and my mother collect British China), but I was checking out this website- http://www.southsilkroad.com after going to their tea shop yesterday
http://www.southsilkroad.com/cha-ma-gu-dao.php and seeing all their wares (they had beehouse teapots, which is like ceramic candy to me- though I only have one!).

This lovely little number caught my eye...I love the flowers Image

This teacup as well; both creepy and charming, I think:

Yep, creepy and charming. And because at least two of my colleagues are evil, here I am posting in the lustful "I want" thread...

After looking at it for a while, I think even a guy might be able to love that pot, vine and all.

"creepy and charming" --funny. I think we may have still one more term for Chamekke's tea glossary.

I've seen that pot before a few times. I was considering it, but then I kept thinking about what it would look like with the lid not perfectly aligned. I didn't think that it would look that good if I wasn't being meticulous about aligning the lid.

I favor whitish kyusu especially white clay and have seen this one before as well.

Part of the Japanese ritual is alignment. Everything is to align. The hole in the lid will be on the downside during the pour pointing directly at the spout opening. I never knew that til I had to line up lid design to the base design. Struck me as strange. Then I read that on a Japanese tea vendor site. I cannot remember which off hand.

The anal side of me...or the OCD side, automatically alligns the lid and base designs anyway.

I recognize a few of their cups that I have also seen at the Hibiki-an site. Quality stuff.

Wow, you'd do well in the tearoom. When the natsume has a design that flows over both lid and body, you must always ensure that the pattern on both is properly aligned. God help you if it isn't! I usually manage to get them juuuust out of alignment :?

It's true... both Japanese tea ceremony and Zen practice are God's gift to OCD people :D

Yeah, they are like Hibiki-West. I see a dozen items or more that I had never seen anywhere else but Hibiki-An.

 Well my AADD counteracts the OCD making me pretty useless. But yeah, I relate even though I don't know why and am too lazy to find out why.

But I do manage to line up the lid to the base anyway.
