these two images shows how i fired the pieces on shells in a gas cone 10 kiln.

lots of serendipity.

I have been scarce here lately and haven't had much time to take photos... but just wanted to say thanks to Cory for 2 absolutely stunning celadon pieces. I love them! I'll post some photos soon, I hope.

cory..thanks for posting the images of pieces wadded with sea shells. i have not tried that as of yet, but want to. someone once told me that scollop shells give the best results. do you have an opinion? also, what are the scars like on glazed ware?

these two pieces have been fired on shells

hmm. scallop. i would n't recommend scallop its too thin

my friend fired last week. this is an inside view of his kiln and his load of his anagama

give u insight into a woodfire kiln that is not tumble stacked.

thanks for the stack pic...can't wait to fire again. i will plan on trying some pieces with shells next time; i have always liked the look.

hi all

quick behind the scenes view of a 3/4 full soda kiln load. all the pieces need to be wadded to prevent the pieces from sticking to the shelves.

nice, cory. is your clay body that dark or did you put an iron wash over it?
