i really like that plate. and, i can't wait to fire some of my pieces on shells next firing, both glazed and unglazed surfaces. i like the effects you are getting with the shells.

Re: cory Lum (bonjiri) chadogu & photographs
i'd like to share a couple interesting test pieces
interesting biidoro on the sides and rim of two guinomi.
the biidoro on the rim guinomi was fired upside down on shells. fun.
the other is a teapot. work in progress. i chopped it, the handle looked too bulky. i sort of like the form of the reeds... i usually stain the handles w/ wood stain.

This teapot is very interesting . The inside seems to be small , how much "dl " can you put inside ? I like the net stucture and the handle that remember it.... i hope you will go on with that experimentation

thanks michael !ginkgo wrote:This teapot is very interesting . The inside seems to be small , how much "dl " can you put inside ? I like the net stucture and the handle that remember it.... i hope you will go on with that experimentation
gingko. thanks . its more a sculptural form. not a double wall. but that's a great idea !
yy, i like the handle falling apart. actually i cut it to remove to make a smaller one that 'fit' better. i usually use a dark wood stain over the reeds to make it 'blend' more.
thank you !

thanks !
totally functional !
guinomi sized tho.
i'll photograph the inside area where the seashells contacted the piece. the guinomi on the left was fired upside down on shells, causing the woodash to flow towards the lip of the guinomi.
that guinomi is around 2 inches high. thanks for looking !
