Wow Cory..I REALLY like that one. And as I have said before your pieces really takes me on a mental trip back to Hawaii! I think you get such a feeling of your home from your work

Even though Cory's photo is great, it doesn't come close to doing justice to the amazing glazes on it. It is a bold and beautiful Chawan and I use it every day for my morning pick me up.

yup, rob gave birth to it. i decided to go ahead and subscribe to his kisetsu chawan program at the $820 level. i really love this chawan. I'll post some pics of it in action later this evening.
about lost...who knows!

there's definitely a competition between ben and widmore and between man in black and jacob. who's good, who's bad? no one knows yet. maybe everyone's good and bad. i'm just going with it and loving every second of it!
btw, great thread! you're doing a great job of driving this here train.

Hey there Smells_...
Thanks for the kudos on thread.
Thanks also for sharing!
Oooo - and I'd love to see what you've got with some elixir swirling about inside, ay?
I decided not to go with the kisetsu deal - feels too claustrophobic for me, too locked in. I really get inspired by particular pieces, and I like to follow the path and see what emerges. I'm happy for you tho, and hope we get to see your seasonal receivings.
I think I would've gotten into all the fun "extras" with Lost, but with internship, then licensure, and now wedding, I just never had the time.
Luuuuuv that show tho. Really enjoying the ride (tho I feel a bit messed with by the writers sometimes, but oh well, I am entertained). Looking very much forward to each of the remaining installments and what they reveal.
Cheers mate.

Beautiful Seeker! Really like the second shot.
I hear ya about the restricted feeling, I feel it a bit. But I knew what I was getting myself into, and went with it. Rob is probably my favorite ceramic artist and it's very difficult for me to get access to his better works without bugging the hell out of him.
So, this program fits well. If I lived closer to him I probably wouldn't have subscribed.
I have a feeling that the subscription program is brand new (i could be wrong)...it's surely new to me. So, it may be a sort of test run for all. I'm subscribed at the higher level and have my idea of what "quality" of chawan I would expect to see offered. These are to be chawan normally sold for $220 - $340. I've seen some amazing chawan Rob has made that have sold within this range on various gallery/showing websites and a couple on Etsy...so my expectations are high. I'm really crossing my fingers, hoping that my expectations are exceeded.
In the winter offering, there were ~3 chawan that really caught my eye out of ~7 total. This works for me as I think Rob told me that he would offer about twice as many chawan as there are subscribers.
The spring offering is coming up in a few days and I'm super excited! I'm looking forward to spring and fall offerings the most. I trust Rob's judgment and aesthetics so my mind's almost at ease, ha! And there's always his wonderful return guarantee...
I'll definitely be back to post my thoughts on the spring offering.
Here's to hoping the selection blows my mind and trousers clean off! Cheers!
