Yes,may be a little small for sencha although is perfect for one person or for Gyokuro.
Now I would like to make a purchase of a hagi teapot,
Could you please recommend some on-line shop that is not too expensive?

New pot testing. I like this cup even though it's not quite round.

Realized it's been a while since I took any pics of teaware to share ...

Teapot is by Hong Seong-Il, teacup is also Korean (a random Ebay find), and the tea is Black Pearl from Mountain Tea.

Lovely how that 'random' cup works with the Seong-Il pot.
Re: NEWEST CHAPTER! Show Off Your Pots and Cups XVII
I got two blue glazed Japanese teacups a while ago, is it normal for them to start getting a few tiny crackles in the glaze on the bottom? Or is that a sign of inferior quality?
I got them cheap in a thrift store. They're really pretty, so I don't mind all that much if they're not "the real thing".

Do you have photos? And what do you mean by crackles, were they always there and just starting to stain? Or are these showing up and going through the whole piece and not just the glaze? The former is quite common in a lot of teaware, and actually desired by quite a few people. The later is a bad sign, and would worry me.verus wrote:I got two blue glazed Japanese teacups a while ago, is it normal for them to start getting a few tiny crackles in the glaze on the bottom? I think the crackle is just in the glaze, it is slightly brownish, but doesn't wash off.

I've had these cups for a while, but haven't shared them yet. Very thin red tokoname clay with semi-handpainted sakura designs on the side; each one holds 100mL of tea. A wonderful thrift store find by my girlfriend - 50 cents each. A good match for sharing tea between the two of us with my large cheap red kyusu.

The cups & kyusu make quite a lovely set, as though destined for each other.

Re: NEWEST CHAPTER! Show Off Your Pots and Cups XVII
Yesterday's special delivery was a few items from Petr Novak. First this little teapot caught my eye:

and then I'd been wanting a little bit larger glazed teapot, to take on more of the larger-scale brewing duties at work:

The black magda glaze has a wonderful subtlety--a little brown and silvery and soft matte glow:

I also wanted an unglazed shiboridashi for puerh at work, and this little gem fit the bill

and it came with a cup with a really nice interior

and a then a drippy nuka-glazed cup snuck it's way into the cart....

Wonderful stuff.
