After seeing this chawan above



I started watching shyrabbit's etsy obsessively and was rewarded with this carbon trap shino and rutile cup



slips and drips



swirls and curls and crackles



a curtain bit flips over the lip



and even the 'plain' bits between the rainbow curtains are distinctive

There were 3 or 4 pieces in that last firing with a similar glazing, and the ones like this and that chawan went quickly. I'm guessing more like them will show up if you keep checking his etsy.

I got another cup at the same time, because two can ship almost as cheaply as one. It's a subtle dark shino



more variegated than rainbowed, here showing quite a few colors over the lip to the lighter interior



and there's a little swirl in a few places to add pattern to the color



and best of all, a wonderful size for the majority of my teapots, about 4 oz.

Hi,
Thought I would post an image of 100 Tea Cups that I just finished that were commissioned by a Zen Study Center in New York to be given as gifts at an upcoming ceremony. I had two weeks to get them done and out the door. Finished yesterday morning...The packing is the worst part, by far.

Yeah, the packing was a real big pain in the butt...It was a good feeling when they left the studio on time...I will be taking pix tomorrow with a few new pieces being posted to my shop soon after, thanks for asking.

I thought I would post a few pieces of bisque ware just for fun, they are white stoneware, will be about 2 ounces and likely to be glazed light and simple, but who knows. I have several dozen coming soon...thanks to all that pushed the idea of smaller cups...I appreciate it.

Hi,
Here's Today's Creamy Crawling Shino Glazed Chawan...It measure 3" h. x 5-3/8" w. and was fired to 2345F in reduction in my small gas fired updraft kiln. This Chawan has the feel of reptilian skin. Thanks for looking. PS, nice long afternoon downpour..Great.
