I have preordered four teas... a lot for me! Obviously I'm going to be drinking plenty of sencha at the office, and inviting my coworkers to share a cup or five.
O-cha: Shincha Kagoshima Yutaka Midori, Shincha Fukamushi Supreme
Hibiki-an: Shincha Traditional, Shincha Fukamushi
{rubs hands together} I can hardly wait!!

BTW - the dens shincha is out guys...

Well, I have a confirmed case of Shincha fever. I just placed an order from Den's for hashiri sencha for me, and the gift package of same, with kyuusu, for a friend who brews his tea in one of those plastic infusers.
Thanks, Inspectoring and PolyH, for pointing out this gift package.
Spreading joy, happiness and green tea, like a good TeaWitch should.

I keep addding to my shincha orders...and will add some more. Hopefully I will stop at around 1 kilo since that is what I will likely drink in 3 months...at which time I will switch to good ole ichibancha.
So, O-C...fuka, hatsumi, kirameki, YM, and Miyabi...ok...all of them!!!
Hibiki Traditional, fuka, farmer, and accidently the super premo (wanted to order the regular premo shincha). Not sure if I want to corrent this situation or not!!!
I will still add a Dens or two and maybe Zencha
Simple arithmatic should tell you this is well over the Kilo I was shooting for.

blah blah blah SENCHA blah blah blah!!!

I've been searching the web for some sort of Japanese Tea Addicts Anonymous group Chip and I can't find anything for you. It surely can't be too long before the first help groups are set up.Chip wrote:Congrats...and you are a good witch!!!witches brew wrote:Well, I have a confirmed case of Shincha fever. OK, O-Cha's Fuka Supreme: I going 3.25 gr to 6 oz 160° 1 m, 20 s, 30 s, and on.
Am I in the ballpark? Tastes great, really different from the Yutaka Midori I have been drinking lately and from Den's Maki I was drinking before that.
My telegraphic notes so far: "Surprisingly fruity, a little astringent, lively and somewhere between grassy and vegetative. Lovely color, lots of bits. Not marine. Good weight in the mouth, viscosity."
How are the rest of youse guys finding it? Now that the shincha is arriving everybody's clammed up: busy brewing, shooting, and spacing out. It's like a bar full of drunk cowboys before the fist fights start.
