Wow, what an eye you have! Yes indeed that is the TeaMasters Tong Xin d'Yixing en zisha as they say in Chinese. I have hardly used it, but it is lovely, interestingly no filter at all. I must set aside some bonding time to get to know it better.

Hope you noticed the pix of 1) your tea on Saturday the 11th and 2) your scoop yesterday. Both very special. Thank you so much.

I could never endorse diving into a cup of scalding hot tea, no matter how fetching; but your kind sentiments are much appreciated.

Sal, guess I am too used to drinking green teas and they are not scolding hot, so please accept my apologies for the faux paux sp???

However, it is still an absolutely perfect photo to encourage someone to drink TEA! It would work for me everytime, altho' most of your shots work that way with me. 8)

Great to see you back, RS, must be the smell of the Puerh Box and the tastings that attracted you.

Being a newer member I was confused by a reference to an animated panda in a TeaDay poll about animated avatars...I'm glad I can see what the other members were referring too.

What a pretty cup! I love clear glass so I can see the color of the tea.
Thanks! I got it at the Salvation Army for a dime! 8)

Shop 2nd hand, I'm just sayin! That's where I found my somayaki cups too... 59 cents each as compared to 19.99 each at Teavana.

 it's so funny that you mentioned, as we say around here "Sally's" I actually went there today, but alas they didn't have anything.

Salsero,

Yes nice pics, the scoop looks different I believe you gave it a good clean likewise here. I prefer single hole filter more now, they pour faster and cleaner, with a golf ball filter you always have to shake and dip to get all the infusion out. Unless you're steeping really small leafs or cut up leafs the single hole works fine imo.

This pot looks simple but is well crafted don't you think (I think I'm in the wrong thread). Little on the big side.

Thanks, Sal!

I am reading TeaChat everyday, but can't post from my new job. In the evenings I am usually too pooped to write something. But the smell of the Pu box is definitely getting closer and stronger :). And this group tasting initiative does sound very interesting. You know that I was hoping for something like this for a while.

Hehehehe Sally's, I like that. A friend of mine named Lilly is the manager of the Goodwill here... I've delivered all her grandbabies. Anyway, most Goodwills have a "boutique" section which is usually super-nice consignment type pieces of clothing, often still with new tags... and so they have named their boutique section "Lilly's Boutique". So, my mom and I refer to the Goodwill as Miss Lilly's. Sally's always has the best glassware, though.

Hello all. I'm just wandering in now. I'm glad I did - I forgot about Chip's taunting over the upcoming special announcement! How exciting! I would love to participate in something like that - assuming it's not like $300/month or something. :) What an awesome chance to learn about different teas. And I'd really be interested in seeing how my tea tastes compare to other more skilled tea folk!

Well, after going home early yesterday, I felt horrid all last night but my fever finally broke around midnight so I went ahead to work today. I made it two hours before I had to come home to die on the couch yet again. But I think I'm on an upswing now because I no longer feel like death is the preferred state over whatever it is I have.

On the down side, I haven't been feeling good enough to make tea even though my pouchong is calling me. Anyone want to come over and make me tea? I'll do my best not to infect you with my virus, I swear!

Ojno poor Auggy! I'd come make you tea, but it's a bit far of a drive for me. Besides isn't that what DH is for? To nurse you and make you tea?

Feel better! You don't have to work tomorrow or the day after that! So rest!

Up here in Canada, "Sally Ann" is the usual abbreviation :)

Happiness: being able to make an extra tea order this month. Have some Ceylon Sonata for DH, and darjeeling #22 and golden monkey for me. Can't wait until they arrive next week. I crave, I crave!

Auggy: Sorry you feel so bad! Get well soon!

Well, in my lens nothing comes out right ... like the genmaicha that Pentox noticed didn't look like genmaicha! I was thinking about bright, stand-out color instead of accuracy of rendition. The same may well apply to the scoop. It looks great in real life, however, and that's the place that counts!

This is only my second single-hole pot, but I have never cared much for the golf balls, preferring the flat filters.

Or the day after that - I have Monday's off.

DH is very adept at making PJ Tips. But I'm still not prepared to turn him loose on my oolongs.

On the plus side - while I have no tea, I do have a kitty dancing on the side of my neck and face. That makes me smile.
