Just a note that the herbals are still being sent out (as of a couple of weeks ago) with the wrong info on the label where the temp says 180.

Just as long as we all know that it's 212 degrees and not 180! The incorrect tins will be phased out, so keep them somewhere, as one day they'll be worth a lot of money on EBay.

Hey, people will buy anything.

Well, most of us seasoned drinkers will know the proper temperature....but what about new customers who are receiving their first ever order of herbals from Adagio. Is their any literature being sent to them noting the error on the tins so they can correctly brew their tea?
Drink your tea slowly and reverently, as if it is the axis on which the world earth revolves - slowly, evenly, without rushing toward the future.

Well, I got the great tins yesterday with my first order from Adagio. Love them!! Great packaging.

Opened my Rooibos just tonight and thought, "Wow, I should have always been heating water for Rooibos to only 180 degrees?" So, I did. And then I found this thread! Sigh. Well, it was only a single cup. Lessons learned. :) A little sheet or a note on the invoice about the label mistake would have been helpful.

white tins?

by Quash » May 26th, '06, 22:50

This thread talks about the new *white* tins. The sample tins and 4oz. tin I got were sage, not white. Unless, I'm totally colour blind. :) Has the colour changed, or if I order more may I get stuck with white (ugh!).

In terms of the silver tin preferred debate. I've gotta say, the sage green tins I got look awesome. Unique and distinctive. Silver, while nice, would look like some online, bulk order. The new tins really say "Adagio" and reinforce the brand, which I guess is the point.

And I love the clear lids, although the psychological trick of thinking that will spoil the tea will take a bit of getting used to. But, the labeling about the UV protection was smart. Does anyone know how the Earl Grey lids look? Are they still clear but treated differently?

Agree on the label issue, though. Easier ones to remove would be good.

Beautiful tins, though.

The lids for Earl Grey look very much the same--they're still clear, though slightly foggier and a bit more opaque. You can still see the tea fine through it but it's not 100% transparent. Which looks much better than a pitter clear lid :)

I ordered 8oz of Blood Orange herbal tisane. Apparently its container didn't get the same special treatment as those for the Earl Grey. There was this layer of product basically glued to the top that took some effort to scrape off, revealing acid pits in the lid. The product is, of course, fine and the container functional, but the lid has taken some damage -- I repeat, the LID has taken some DAMAGE.

By the way, I love the new tins. They're more professional.

I finally drank enough of my massive tea supply to justify ordering more, and I got to say, I love the new tins. They look very snazzy and the stackability will remove a source of frustration in my life.
