Okay, I am suffering from very serious TEAWARE ENVY!

Bears, that's an awesome looking kyusu, you certainly have a talent! Chamekke, all three of those teapots are lovely, and Marshal, I absolutely LOVE the pot you just posted. Great stuff everyone!

I absolutely love the glaze, but have to admit that the small lid opening and fixed handle make it just a tad tricky to put in the hot water and tea. The tiny spout also demands a certain degree of ... patience ... when it comes time to pour out the tea:
*LOVE* that one.

thanks for the kind words all...yeah the handle's kinda long, but i have gaijin-sized hands. :)

As do most of us here!

Incidentally, if you want to see some really unusual ... proportions, take a look at this baby, which I recently discovered on Yahoo Japan Auctions:

Yikes! That first one is scary! Is that a funnel for it's ummm huge
ummm spout or some kind of funky handle? Either way

Honestly, it appears to be the handle. (!) Full listing with pics here:

And for anyone who wants to check out detailed pics of the second kyusu - the one with the, shall we say, underbite - go here:

I do find those two pieces somewhat ... hilarious. And the second one is downright goofy. But the prices aren't!

The first one is clearly Ferengi!

The second, well, no need to take the lid off to fill with water, just pour the water right into the spout each time. Brilliant!

Yeah! Star Trek. That could be a Ferengi ... symbol.
