I thought it was supposed to completely dissolve?
There's another thread lurking around that's devoted to the gel...

Oh Snap
I thought I'd found something new.
This proves I'm not reading all the threads.
Thanks

Actually, I was lucky enough for coloradopu to provide me with a demostration via internet. The pu taffy doesn't completely dissolve. It will dissolve slowly from session to session by attrition.. so to speak..

I really dig that shirt, even if it is a wee bit hippie. Do they sell it at Yunnan sourcing?

Interesting! On Scott's YSLLC ebay page, the last picture shows two pitchers, one very light (like the one nonc_ron shows) and one very dark, rather like shou puerh (hard to tell if that's a gel thing in the pitcher though).
How do those differ...? Preparation, or the gel itself, or...?

Aloha Guys,
I just received my order from Tuochatea.com. I ordered five 06' Fenghuang ripe tuo cha Pu-erh. I've ordered from Duan from Tuochatea.com before and he always gives good service.

This is my take on this ripe Pu-erh;
This is a really nice ripe Pu-erh. It has a clear red tea soup, nice color. A very good aroma with some nice earthy tones. I'm on my 3rd cup and it's starting to mellow out some. The taste is mild with some earthiness and a nice flavor with a good mouthfeel. I find that short brewing times works best to start out with. I feel that for the price this is a very good everyday ripe Pu-erh.

Aloha Guys,
I just got this in not to long ago from Yunnan Sourcing. It's a 08' Feng Qing "Feng Shan Yi Hao" raw Pu-erh. I was looking for Pu-erhs to keep for the long term and Feng Qing tea factory teas have a long history and have proven to be an excellent investment for the long term. I'll post my revue later.
