wow

working on some ideas utilizing double walled thrown forms.

the trick is to get the pieces light enough/thin enough etc.

above is a double walled sakazuki. guinomi thrown as one piece then carved. high fired. cone 10.

current double walled pieces. flat vase.

this particular piece fused to the shelf. zen.

now it is one piece.

I know nothing - but my brain says

can you not invert the shelf about 1/4" above another shelf - refire and allow it to ease itself off - or would it just stick to the shelf below

That's an incredible piece. I'm sorry about the sticky situation you're in, but that piece is really cool! I hope you can remove it somehow. Is it possible to grind it off?

That is good one...time for hammer and grinder, my kiln shelfs can talk about it for hours.

a small tokkuri shows scale w/ carved tea pot sculpture (diane KW)
thrown form , cory Lum. i will then weave a handle from cane !

latest yunomi from last firing. yunomi is about 4-inches high

firing soda kiln w/ hydrogen reduction this week sometime
