Is that a jar that says 2002(or 7) Wuyi on it?

Have you been trying it, how has it been changing?

1st off, no, there is not camera in the robot but that is a great idea and i should work on that! :D

The jar is 2007, I have a few more somewhere else, idk. But I have tried it since sealing it about a year ago and am quite impressed by the changes. When I put it in there initially it was very smokey from the roasting, much of that is disappearing leaving sweeter more floral notes. It has a pretty nice cha qi as well. The cool thing is, I can get this tea for $17/pound at my local wegmans!

Salsero- No problem. Always glad to show a little tea porn every now and then!

Howzit shogun89,
I have question, is that you have on the shelf a Haiwan 958 Menghai Raw tuo? If it is, how is it? I was thinking about buying a few for myself.

Yes, they are indeed the 958 tuo's. For the price, they are great. They have that nice Menghai flavor, kinda mushroomy, tobacco, and a little spice. Over all quite nice for the price. I would like to get more.

and just how much does each one cost i bet that would be some hi dollar little nick man. just send it to me and i will use it.

no offense but its not bad stuff and cost way to much to pull jokes on people with. the tea master Leroy would kick me out if i did that.

i bet if they did eat it the face they make would be like a lemon .....LOL!

Howzit shogun,
I have one more question, from what I've learned about storing Pu-erh is that you suppose to keep them separated like "raw" with "raw" and "ripe" with "ripe" or it doesn't matter in a big room? I keep mine in a cardboard storage box and so far it's been pretty good. The humidity is about 58%-61% and the temperature about 83-88 degrees. (That's inside my box) I'm very lucky that the weather here in Maui, Hawaii is just like in Yunnan, China with a little more humidity over there.

Yeah, You want to keep the two separate, my shu collection is in a different closet. Your storage conditions seem to be pretty good. I hold around 70% from March to September then slowly drop reaching a low of around 45% then starts all over again. I hold a constant temp of 70 degrees. So overall I think I am doing pretty well.

Hey, Your doing great!! If you can hold a constant 70 degrees that's good. But if you can go up to about 78-83 degrees and hold it for awhile even better. It will help speed up the fermentation just as long the HR don't go above 80% then you good to go!! I got this information from Scott (YLLC) and he said that in Yunnan it gets hotter then hell in there storage rooms but the Pu-erh keeps well. On Maui the weather pretty much keeps constant at about 77-88 degrees. (WOO-HOO!!) :D

I just got my last auction order from RJ tea House. This is a new Pu-erh shop on the internet. It's a 07' Luyechun ripe Pu-erh brick 250g. Here's my revue; It has a nice aroma with a deep red wine tea soup. And like with all good ripe Pu-erh it needs short brewing times at the start. The flavor is very interesting. It has some earthiness to it, not much but more of an dated taste. It's hard to describe. I haven't tasted a lot of ripe Pu-erh and the ones that I have all have some earthy flavor. But this one is really different. I kinda like it. I won this at a good price and I thought that it would be a good everyday ripe Pu-erh. Now I'm thinking that I could age this for a few more years and see how it would be. :D
