Hmmmm, was this subconsciously why I like Momiji so much? :lol: , I grow Japanese Maples and have always loved them, well, since my early teens. This pot is sold out and I do not know if he is replacing it. BTW, Toru included a small flat teacup porcelain papeweight with nice Momiji painting on it since I wrote about liking Momiji so much?

Out of the 3 AN pots and the one from O-Cha (also a Momiji one that is sold out) that I just aquired, this one is least comfortable and functional, I say this without even using it to brew yet. The handle is short, the lid opening is small. When I "naturally" hold it, I notice it is not completely level. It is quite lovely, so much more so than the photo, and it is "a looker" no doubt, but it may not be a kyusu I reach for regularly.

The other 2 AN pots are super functional as is the one from O-Cha, and all look great.

I received the Bizen yohen kyusu today, pretty amazing piece. Counted my kyusu, 10, not including a Korean one, nor the 4 little Korean pots from Hankook. :roll:

I think I need more.

They promise to offer antique teaware to the US market at their cost plus shipping and a 15% finders fee. You are probably paying a much higher markup today. He advised me that accepting paypal will cost an additional 4%.

I have already been surprised by their prices compared to other well known vendors. I trust their promise of transparency, because this is exactly how Nada has run his other business so far.

I would currently consider this ITD only as they are still building the site and other groundwork. I also plan on starting with some relatively small orders for due diligence.

Very nice, Brandon. Is this an older piece or is the "aging" done by the magic of the craftsman? Where did you buy it?

Chip, the pot is from NadaCha and is made of aged and new clay, but the most distress is created in the kiln. My last actual "I want", a full tea service of modern Taiwan celadon, was actually a photo sent to me by Nada, acquired by his Life of Tea "man on the ground" in Taiwan. I am guessing they are taking a break for the new year, but they are supposed to purchase me some things from Mr. Wu (featured in Art of Tea mag - wish I could get the article online).

Thanks for the link Brandon. I'll definitely bookmark that and keep checking. I'm not sure how serious I am. For now, I'm dreaming. But if the right one at the right price came along ...

Congrats on your new pot. I like that it is distinctive, it's a sweet little pot. And good for oolongs I hear.

On the subject of Life of Tea mentioned above...
I have currently only communicated through Nada, who has never mentioned his partner by name. I am starting to believe that this second Western gentlemen may be Aaron Fisher. Not only are all the paintings on the site Fisher originals, but all of the photos of silver kettles are the same as seen in The Leaf, Aaron's magazine. Interestingly, the text of the Silver kettles page and the article in Issue 4 of The Leaf are similar as well. The author of this The Leaf article is uncredited.
