2009 Da Wu Ye from Imen at Tea Habitat - brewed in a new CZ pot.

This is very different to the other DWY's that I have had and OH SO very fragrant.

It still has decent body, texture and aftertaste - I am in love with DC all over again.

Not sure if the difference is down to this years offering or my new teapot.

I suspect from Imen's notes on the tea it is the tea not the pot.

So I will have a look for your reports on them :)
I am not familiar with the naming convention of Oolongs yet. Just know to differ Anxi, Wuyi and Dancong. :)
And I bought the whole sample set of Oolongs from JK teashop and from NbT. And I am not through with sampling :)

2009 winter wood-roasted shui xian from Hou De. I think the subtleties of this one are rather lost on me today as a cold is taking hold.

Now moving on to comfort tea with red-label SeaDyke Ti Kuan Yin.

I like it, but have not settled my opinion, I may not have got the best out of it yet.

It comes in small foil packs inside small cardboard packets. The foil packs weigh 10 gm, the tea inside weighs about 8+ gm.

Doing a short rinse followed by 10 second infusion (110 ml yixing) at near boil the first brew tastes very rustic and full. The second 10 sec infusion tastes very rich and much clearer, subsequent infusions 10, 15, 25 are brighter and the taste becomes more delicate, yet remains warming and cheery.

Nice, but not shouting spectacular at me, but there is the hint that there are layers of taste I am not seperating, I may try cooler water, or larger pot and longer steeps.

What impressed me was how many times I brewed it.....I just lost count but it kept going and going!

On my re-order though I'm mostly going got their dong ding ming. That was a great tea.

I am drinking some 2010 Spring Shan Lin Xi "Da An" oolong from Hou De. Oh so good... The scent is addicting and the taste is so rich and smooth. My first purchase from Hou De and definitely not my last.

Black Dragon from NBT this evening. It is somehow different to the Oolongs I had before. My first Taiwanese Oolong. Really nice. :)
