This set are the 16 old mountains tea collection, using the older trees from each area to produced. Auction only from the initial sales, and the 1st edition of 500 was sold over US $30000.

I believe if he is talking about the same set as me, it actually includes 2 of each cake. There is a single estate cake representing each growing area, each with a bonus cake for display/storage. This is much more an educational tool to train one's pallet than for enjoyment, according to the reviewer.

Ethan Thompson has a nice review of his experience with the 2004 Changtai 16 Mountain Set in The Art of Tea, Number 1, page 152. Although it is an interesting read, it didn't convince me to start saving up for a set!

Oops, my bad, Konishi Yohei is the creator. Hojo is the vendor who offers products w/o prices. If ya need to ask, you prolly can't afford it. But they have some amazing Japanese teaware.

Do people really use a kyusu like this costing 600+? I would fear breaking it each time I even looked at it funny.

Or does it simply sit on a shelf, never savoring the steamed leaf?
