I must say chip is doing an amazing job on these.

See Tea Day for another photo, but I'm loving my ice split right now... Got a little Oku Yutaka in there, and heres another picture of it in action.

Very nice Adam! Here are my two babies:

The one on the left is bigger and from the Special Offer, the one on the right, eBay previously. Both are beautiful and unique in their own way. I can tell anyone looking who doesn't own one, that they are definitely more beautiful in person. The pics just don't seem to do them justice unlike some of the other pieces.

Fantastic Ice Splits Adam and Victoria! Is it just me, or do the ice splits seem energized?!?
Re: The unofficial, official HAGI topic!
Is anyone else noticing that the Ice splits develop tea stained lines on the inside very quickly?
Here is a picture of the inside of mine after only a handful of uses. I think it has to do with the Many layers of glaze, and the fact that the tea is so noticeable against the White.

Adam, I have not broken the Ice Splits in yet, but whites show the endearing crackling faster, no doubt about it. Both Deishi and Seigan whites.
I was wondering if the crackling would show the blue underneath, or the color of the tea? Looks like the tea wins!
I am holding onto the infancy of the Ice Splits like a parent not wanting their child to grow up?

... yet oddly the Shiro Deishi SO #7 shows no sign at all, zilch, of crackling despite pretty many uses. But ... the glaze is "thin" on the inside.
Heh, what do I know

Re: The unofficial, official HAGI topic!
My Shiro Deishi is odd, while the glaze is also quite thin on the inside, the cracks seemed to first start near the lip and work their way into the bowl. There is little sign of crackling on the inside bottom of the bowl for my shiro, but its apparent where I've taken a majority of my sips from as there are tiny little cracks that are taking on a slight tinge of darkness there.
Re: The unofficial, official HAGI topic!
My newest Seigan Hagi is this footed guinomi:

I was thinking it was going to be the same size as the Golden Sand Seigan guinomi I already owned, but it turned out to be a bit bigger. I love the bronze and pewter metallic-ness!!!

Woh - that darker one looks like it was taken from the orc guards at the Black Gate!

Re: The unofficial, official HAGI topic!
Wow, Someone just Ebay snipped a Hagi right out from under me! The email that I was outbid arrived at the same time as the Email saying that I did not win the item. I should perhaps start using these Ebay snipping tools.

That, or just set your high bid to whatever you are willing to pay, in which case it really shouldn't matter.AdamMY wrote:Wow, Someone just Ebay snipped a Hagi right out from under me! Its odd cause I had the window open, and I looked away with a few minutes remaining, and a little bit later two emails appear. I did set it to what I was willing to pay so I am not really disappointed, its just a bit sad that it got ripped away just when I thought I won it.

I often wonder how many times we here are bidding against each otherAdamMY wrote:Its odd cause I had the window open, and I looked away with a few minutes remaining, and a little bit later two emails appear.
