Mi Lan Dancong from Jing in a squat little yixing pot. Tricky getting the long twiggy leaves in there. Packed with flavor.

I think it is high time I tried DC from somewhere other than Tea Habitat, Dragon Tea House and Teacuppa

How do you rate the Jing DCs :?:

The three or so I've had from there were good. Take my rating with a grain of salt - I don't find Dancongs to be especially hard to brew, so I'm clearly doing something wrong. ;)

Sounds like my echo, I have not had any of the much quoted issues other Teachatters continually raise, so I must give Jing Teashop a go, the only trouble is I have just raised an order for Pu and Yan Cha from them, so I will probably wait for a while.

3 Stamped Shui Xian, a sample from The Mandarin's Tea Room. Heavily roasted, intense concentration of flavor and saturation of color. Will finish it off tomorrow night.

That tasted and smells a little like miso I think. I liked it though.

Spring 2009 Lu Shan from Tea Masters. A bit old but upping the leaf slightly still produces a sweet cup. That's indicative of a well crafted tea. :)

I wanted to up the leaf for the older TGYs that I have had the last 2 days :D

But the rascals come in individual sealed foil packs, and I thought opening 2 would be a bit excessive :(

I tried steeping longer, but I think more leaf would have been better

Well if you don't want to up the leaf, lessen the water, right?
Yeah longer steeping may not work out as well.

Dilemma, I had already chosen the pot :) , I wanted to use the pot :D , I really wanted to use that pot

I love slightly overfilling, so that when the lid goes in, a little spurts out - it is sort of part of my ritual

they were still enjoyable.

I have that pot out of my system now, I will use a smaller one on any remaining TGY that is similarily packaged and over 18 months old.
