hi all

just got some test pieces, small guinomi.
first off, the clays here are amazing. the 'flavor' is difficult to describe in words.

the glaze palette is amazing too.

will be starting on some series of matcha chawan and even some kyusu. (teapots) shortly

cheers ! enjoy !

cory

Beautiful pieces, Cory. How about some close ups! Very Cory-like ... which is a good thing!

Certainly looking forward to seeing the Kyusu and Chawan series!!!

Do you ever create any yunomi and guinomi with more taper?

chip

can u post a sample of what u mean by 'more taper' ?

cheers !
thanks !
hehe

any form is possible

AdamNY

cheers ! thanks ! the clays here have so much organics in them. very much like soil/dirt more than clay. difficult to explain. the red stoneware i'm liking has a bit of quartz and natural feldspar. WHOA !

thank you !

OK, tapered can be almost anything, but it would be wider at the top than the bottom. It can be curvy like this one, or more angular. Can be lower or higher. Can flare at the top or not ... or even curve back inward.

Etc.

And diameters ... we had a long discussion in another TA topic. Now who was that ...

But 3-4 inch top diameters sound pretty good. Due to the taper, they hold much less than say a yunomi of that width ... plus they are more shallow.

Thanks for "listening" Cory!
